Poll on the most difficult characters to write

 For those looking to procrastinate on their 520 assignment and other interested parties, I put a poll on my journal here about which Guardian characters you find the most difficult to write. 

Excerpts from the novel

For the last couple of days, I've been compiling excerpts from bits of the novel that I love and putting them in my journal (I used to do stuff like that when I was a kid with books I liked, putting quotes and stuff into a notebook and all). And then, I went and translated them just for the heck of it, consider it as practicing my Chinese or just an exercise in masochism... Who knows.

Its not every chapter, but the focus is on the relationship between SW & ZYL. Anyway, after getting a couple of comments, I thought I might unlock them and share them here for anyone's interested. I have no idea how these bits have been translated in the English version of the novel, but this is my take. I tend to go with a "gist of it" approach to translation so... *shrug* If anyone has any comments on the translation or whatever bits, feel free to let me know. I'm sort of also assuming some people reading would have no idea of the context, so there are some explanation before some of the parts. Oh, and my random comments in brackets within the English translation. :P
