Drama, novel or both? I started a rewatch yesterday in honour of my year anniversary in the fandom and I mean to read the novel along with the show as I go. This is my first time reading the novel and I'm limited to translations so we'll see how it goes.

Other points of interest regarding your Guardian fannishness:
I do threaded livetweets of everything I'm consuming media wise, so I have one of those going for my rewatch/read. Also, Guardian got me back into active fannish life after a very long hiatus of only lurking in the fringes of different fandoms.
Posting habits I have posted a few book reviews only so far but I'm trying to be a more regular poster and I plan to do a novel-drama comparison with my rewatch.
How long have you been on Dreamwidth? Where were you before that? I created my account last December. I had one after strikethrough on LJ but I forgot the log in info after years of inactivity. I tweet a lot and had a tumblr but left a few years ago because of the negativity. Before that...LJ.
What do you post about: So far just book reviews but I am trying to be more active about reviewing all the media I consume and also some general life stuff, posting about my garden and travels. (Once summer is over and I can go outside again regularly.)
Your other fandoms include: currently not super fannish about anything that's not BY48/ZYL48 but I was in hockey fandom most recently.
Post frequency: /sweats. 3 a month so far? But trying to be better!
Access policy: So far everything I've posted is public but if anyone wants to be friends and see my musings on life then hit me up!

Anything else we should know about you? I guess I qualify as a fandom old. I love meta and fic and also fan mixes a lot, please yell all your thoughts at me. Also I am full of knives and anytime people yell at me for murdering fictional characters or making their lives miserable my powers grow stronger.

What do you post about: I do a combination of life updates and fannish updates. Right now I'm working on an original writing project, and talking about Guardian, and Stargate which I'm reawatching.
Your other fandoms include: In addition to Guardian, actively, I'm reading in MDZS/The Untamed. I'm watching Stargate SG1, I revisited Harry Potter this spring, and I'm finishing up a Star Wars (prequels) fic I wrote last year. I'm all over the place fannishly, but you can check out my tags.
Post frequency: I post a couple times a week in general. And then sometimes don't post for a while.

Other points of interest regarding your Guardian fannishness: My interests and likes are pretty broad in general, but especially where this fandom is concerned (I have read two types of stories I never thought I would, thanks to this fandom: RPF and twincest.) I love AUs as well as canon-based stories. I love clever novel and dramaverse fusions. I'm happy to help beta when I have time, just ping me! I'm in the camp that doesn't find the ending to the show tragic, just sad, because I believe that they will be able to come together again someday.

How long have you been on Dreamwidth? Where were you before that? I used to be on LJ around 2010-2011. I made a Dreamwidth but didn't do much with it other than crosspost on LJ, until LJ faded out around 2012ish. Tried to revive interest in DW by making a Detroit Become Human community after the tumblrpocalypse, but it languished. Now active again thanks entirely to Guardian and its lovely community!
What do you post about: Mostly fannish stuff.

Access policy: At one point I locked down a lot of my old journal. I've been slowly putting the fic from it on AO3, but there's still a decent amount to go. I rarely lock posts now (only if there's something personal in them) but I'm happy to give access to anyone who asks.

Anything else we should know about you? I'm an extrovert in RL, and I love to travel. I frequently attend conventions. I would be really excited to meet fellow Guardian fans in person, so if you're going to be in the Southern California area (especially near San Diego) or if I post that I'm going to be in your area and you'd be interested in meeting in person, let me know! I think my single favorite moment is in the Drama. Zhao Yunlan catches Shen Wei cutting himself in the kitchen, presses him for answers, and yells at him in frustration. He says, "I'm not worth what you're doing for me."

And Shen Wei, without a second of hesitation, immediately says, "You're worth it." And he is completely, utterly, sincere.

I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it.

What do you post about: On Tumblr? Everything! Mostly I reblog stuff from other folks (everything from recipes to fangirling to dumb memes to social justice) but occasionally I'll post about my life.
Your other fandoms include: Right now I'm pretty into Guardian tbh. And I think I fixate on ships more than fandoms themselves? That said I used to follow a lot of big-name pairings from fandoms like the MCU, DC comics / DCAU, Merlin, Supernatural, Harry Potter, other shows, random animes, etc.
Post frequency: Here? Zero. Tumblr? Something like 10-14 posts (reblogs) per day (sometimes more).
Access policy: I'm selective on LJ but pretty liberal on Tumblr.

Anything else we should know about you? Like I mentioned above, I'm never on LJ and almost never on Dreamwidth (except for this comm). If anyone wants to get in touch with me for some reason they should message me on AO3 (do people do that? idk) or ideally seek me out on Tumblr.

What do you post about: Not a lot, recently, to be honest. :P When I do post it's mostly about Hong Kong movies/shows or other Chinese media, or about studying Chinese, or how I'm still not writing my doctoral dissertation like I should be. >_>

How long have you been in the fandom? I finished the novel and drama in September 2020, but I've been mostly lurking and just reading fanfics until I finally joined the Guardian Discord this year
Where can we find your fanworks, if any: I'm still taking copious notes for a post-canon dramaverse fic that has Weilan reunite and Ye Zun undergo a long, comprehensive redemption arc, but if I make enough progress on it, I'll post on AO3.

Other points of interest regarding your Guardian fannishness:
1.) Ever since I finished reading the novel, I sometimes affectionately call Shen Wei a vampire due his penchant for blood, melodrama, and pining. And I 100% approve of any human-vampire Weilan fics.
2.) The wall of clocks showing cities in different timezones on Haixing is the #1 reason I considered writing Guardian fanfiction. Nearly everything about the last ten to twenty minutes of Episode 40 is #2.
3.) I fell in love with my coworker, who turned me down in an eerily similar self-deprecating way as Zhao Yunlan did to Zhu Hong. Our friendship didn't deteriorate, however, and we supported each other through thick and thin. Even now, I still love him, but I've accepted what happened enough to move on. Zhu Hong's arc was therapeutic for me making peace with that chapter of my life, and I'm grateful to Priest and the drama crew for how they handled her character.
4.) I love collecting merch, and I really want Guardian merch, but since it's been a while since summer 2018, I've no clue where to look. TT_TT
5.) I swear it's not hyperbole, but Weilan is definitely one of my favorite pairings of all time. I love them in the book and in the drama, flaws and all.

I also used to make fanart but currently taking a break. Art will be posted either be on tumblr or here if I decide to make more.
Other points of interest regarding your Guardian fannishness:
1. I saw the drama first and was actually not that into it (although I thought Bai Yu/Zhu Yilong's acting was great). But then I read the novel and became obsessed with novel Weilan, and from that had a new appreciation for drama Weilan. Ironically these days I'm way more into the drama version (although I still love the novel!)
2. I was more a fan of Shen Wei/Zhu Yilong at first, but over time, Bai Yu/Zhao Yunlan has grown into my fave. (But let's be honest, they're both my fave.)
3. Ye Zun/OT3: at first I couldn't understand why anyone would be into this, then in my quest to figure that out I became obsessed. These days I'm more in the middle, but somehow all my fics are about the three of them.

So in a way, Guardian was kind of like acquired tastes that's gotten better and better over time. And I'm glad I gave it a chance, because this fandom is a lovely community and pretty much everyone I've met in it has been really kind and welcoming!
