Fic Series: Pushing the Envelope

nnozomiTwo-fic series. The first was a Yuletide treat written for fun because I couldn't resist kimboo_york's prompt about Zhao Yunlan and Zhao Xinci; naturally I couldn't leave Shen Wei out either. The second is almost entirely Lin Jing- and Li Qian-centric, with no Zhaos, sadly, and just a little bit of Shen Wei ex machina.
Thinking Outside the Box (8K+)
Zhao Yunlan and his father share one or two long-unspoken truths, and one or two new ones. Meanwhile, Shen Wei has failed to learn Zhao Yunlan’s lesson about care in handling ancient artifacts.
Through a Glass, Darkly (10K)
Lin Jing and Li Qian make use of the portal boxes to pay whirlwind visits to Dixing and environs, discovering old enmities and new science. (Alternately titled The Very Long Night of Lin Jing, except it doesn’t scan.)
