sid_guardian continues to flourish - we've just reached 200 subscribers! (And now it's 201!!! Wow!!!) *confetti and champagne and Hallows for everyone*
Welcome! Please make yourselves at home! Feel free to link to -- or post here directly -- any and all
Guardian-and-adjacent-related content (fanworks, meta, recs, squee, picspams, etc. etc. etc.), and jump into conversations and chat with people. (Or not, if you prefer to lurk!) We welcome content related to the drama, the novel, the actors and their other roles, and RPF.
To celebrate this milestone (TWO HUNDRED AND ONE SUBSCRIBERS!! HOW IS THIS FANDOM REAL?!), we've prepared a fandom bingo, designed for general fans and fanworks creators alike! Something for everyone (we hope)!
This bingo can be played in two modes:
- In General Fandom Mode, you'll be prompted to explore the comm, engage with the fandom, consume and comment on fanworks and related material, talk to people, and optionally create one or two fanworks of your own.
- In Maker Mode, you'll get a mix of General Fandom prompts, as above, and one-word prompts on which to base fanworks. For the purposes of this bingo, the definition of "fanwork" is as broad as you want to make it -- fic, art, icons, translations, crafts, polls, recs, vids, floral arrangements, philosophical musings, fandom resources, whatever you like -- just so long as it relates to the Guardian drama or novel, the actors, RPF or related fandoms in some way. There are no minimum word/pixel/etc. counts or sizes.
Here is a list of all the prompts.How it works
- Apply here for a card. You can request a General Fandom card or a Maker card. There are 25 pre-made cards; yours will be randomly assigned from the mode you request. Cards are available as html tables or JPG files, so let us know which you prefer.
- Get started! Have fun! Explore, consume, comment and create!
- Complete a horizontal, vertical or diagonal line that includes a Hallow square to earn the badge for that Hallow. There are special prompts for the Hallow squares (see below).
Note: You must complete a different line for each Hallow. If your lines intersect, you must complete at least three new fills per Hallow. This may mean filling a prompt twice. The central square can count for any Hallow -- just fill it with a prompt for the Hallow you want.
- When you've earned a badge, come back here and tell us what you've done, preferably with links! We'll check your claim against your card and award you your badge.
Repeat steps 3 and 4, as appropriate.
- Optional: Complete a blackout to earn a Guardian Token!
- Show off your shiny, shiny badges!
The bingo runs for one month, and all badges must be claimed by
15th November, midnight UTC. (
When is that for me?) And we're running this on an honour system -- we won't be checking your fills, so please make sure you've earned a badge before you claim it!
