Our lovely fandom continues to grow beyond our wildest expectations! Comm membership has just hit 100 98 (and we got impatient)! *shameless champagne and ballooooons*

A few small notes and reminders:

1. The Welcome/Intro post and the Fannish Resources post are still alive and kicking. Feel free to drop in at any time and say hi, or give us all your resource links (even the ones that might seem really obvious)!


2. Lurking is also totally fine, of course! *waves to lurkers*


3. Please tag your posts to the comm so other users can easily find what they’re looking for. In particular, it would be great if you could use the canon: drama and/or canon: novel tags, since it’s not always obvious to us mods which should apply, including for fanart or vids that use drama visuals but draw on novel elements. This is our current list of tags, and we’ll add more type tags as the need arises.

Yesssss, post it!! If I can find mine again I for sure will too, although I am not too optimistic about it. The hunt is on! :D

And oh man, our color choices were wild. Yours sounds reasonably classy, but some of them? The lime-green font on a tiled background? The teen I showed the screencaps to kept going "But why did you use so many colors?? Why would you do that to yourselves??' and I had to break it to her that in the 90s colors on computers were still VERY NEW AND EXCITING to us. :D

I've found it, along with some other design crimes that I had entirely forgotten about. Nooo! And it turns out I had also saved my author page from an archive of the time, and WOW, that is AWFUL. Definitely material for an amusing post. I will wait for a bit, though, because I don't want to immediately scare off my new friends!

Indeed! Why the colors, why the images, why the cheesy ornamental buttons, blinking gifs and sparkly text...? I think that back then, our feelings could have been simply summed up with BECAUSE WE CAN. :-)

Omg I'm so excited! :D I've started the first steps of trying to find my own early efforts as well... of course I picked a week when I'm working six days to go on a research spiral. Oh well!

Also yes, 'BECAUSE WE CAN' is so, so true and made me laugh.
