Guardian fandom friending meme!!!
Our lovely fandom continues to grow beyond our wildest expectations! Comm membership has just hit 100 98 (and we got impatient)! *shameless champagne and ballooooons*
A few small notes and reminders:
And now, without further ado...
Since some of us are new to Dreamwidth, and some of us are new to Guardian, it seems like a good time for a Dreamwidth friending meme. Come and meet new people! (Re)Populate your DW circle!
To participate, just copy the text below, paste it into a new comment and tell us about yourself. (All information is optional.) Then read through other people's comments and say hi / follow them as desired.
(Many thanks to
teaotter for prettifying the banner pic! <3)
A few small notes and reminders:
- The Welcome/Intro post and the Fannish Resources post are still alive and kicking. Feel free to drop in at any time and say hi, or give us all your resource links (even the ones that might seem really obvious)!
- Lurking is also totally fine, of course! *waves to lurkers*
- Please tag your posts to the comm so other users can easily find what they’re looking for. In particular, it would be great if you could use the canon: drama and/or canon: novel tags, since it’s not always obvious to us mods which should apply, including for fanart or vids that use drama visuals but draw on novel elements. This is our current list of tags, and we’ll add more type tags as the need arises.
- You can find the full (updated) comm rules on the profile page.
- Feel free to promote
sid_guardian on your journal or elsewhere. (Here's a graphic and text.)

DW username: 020104isme
Languages: English
Offline location: Scotland
Other online locations: (ao3, twitter, tumblr, pinterest, etc.) ao3 under the same name though I don't have any fic posted to that account.
I like: (het, slash, femslash, gen, other, poly, all of the above) I have read most things but tend to prefer slash or gen.
Guardian-specific stuff
Drama, novel or both? Have only watched the drama.
Fannish about canon, actors, related shows, RPF or some combination of these? Canon, actors & will probably get into the other stuff.
How long have you been in the fandom? Watched the show in February, part way through my first re-watch.
Where can we find your fanworks, if any: None currently though this be the fandom that makes me get back into writing.
Other points of interest regarding your Guardian fannishness: I am doing my best to remember to offer comments more rather than just lurking. This fandom seems to be ridiculously happy and willing to share that in terms of icons, playlists etc., I am going to stop lurking and say thanks.
Posting habits
How long have you been on Dreamwidth? Where were you before that? A few years predominantly lurking on Dreamwidth, never had LJ. In ye olden days did post to forums for fandoms I was involved in or fandom specific archives.
What do you post about: Occasional book or movie, trips or random stuff and nonsense.
Your other fandoms include: MCU, SGA, Trek, Merlin, Highlander, Babylon 5, Mag 7, Potterverse, The Sentinel, The Professionals, Teen Wolf... I like a lot of different fandoms.
Post frequency: Getting more frequent.
Access policy: Subscribe or unsubscribe as the spirit moves you.
Anything else we should know about you? I like most stuff and I have never minded spoilers.
Random Guardian
This is the most welcoming fandom I have witnessed online in an age and that makes me happy.

Right? It's so great. And it's a small fandom, but I still haven't been in one with this much activity on DW in ages.

I took a few steps away from active participation in fandom due to the self-entitlement of people demanding things of writers I admired and pushing them into pulling work or giving up fandom altogether. Someone's enjoyment of something should never come at the price of causing someone else to lose their enjoyment in the same thing. *climbs off soapbox*
This (drama) fandom seems to embody joy and sparkles and that is no doubt due to the wonderful cast. I can't comment on the novel fandom side of things but so far it seems to be all one big happy family of fans and I love that.

this be the fandom that makes me get back into writing
Same here. I thought I was done writing fanfic, but here we are. :-) It must be the same thing that has so many people feeling fannish again, even when they thought they were done with that kind of thing.

Agreed! Everyone's so generous, it's lovely.

This fandom does miracles on inspiration to do some content so let’s hope it works for you too.
But never feel too bad about lurking, that’s exactly what I’m doing most of the time tbh.

I just about expired of laughter looking at that awesome image. Scottish summer, a pictorial diagram!
