Our lovely fandom continues to grow beyond our wildest expectations! Comm membership has just hit 100 98 (and we got impatient)! *shameless champagne and ballooooons*

A few small notes and reminders:

1. The Welcome/Intro post and the Fannish Resources post are still alive and kicking. Feel free to drop in at any time and say hi, or give us all your resource links (even the ones that might seem really obvious)!


2. Lurking is also totally fine, of course! *waves to lurkers*


3. Please tag your posts to the comm so other users can easily find what they’re looking for. In particular, it would be great if you could use the canon: drama and/or canon: novel tags, since it’s not always obvious to us mods which should apply, including for fanart or vids that use drama visuals but draw on novel elements. This is our current list of tags, and we’ll add more type tags as the need arises.

Guardian-specific stuff
Drama, novel or both? Drama, I tried the novel, it didn’t work for me.
Fannish about canon, actors, related shows, RPF or some combination of these? Mostly about canon and actors and a bit of RPF. I watched some of the actors' other shows, but I didn’t get fannish about them.
How long have you been in the fandom? I started watching in summer 2018, finished in August.

Other points of interest regarding your Guardian fannishness: Guardian brought me back into fandom life again after a long break and I will be forever grateful. I love everything about the drama, it gave me two pairings to ship – Zhao Yunlan/Shen Wei and Chu Shuzhi/Guo Changcheng, it gave me complicated and messy sibling relationship between Shen Wei and Ye Zun (and that’s one of my favorite things), it gave me SID team, and a bittersweet ending (I love those a lot, even better than the happy ones). :)

Posting habits
How long have you been on Dreamwidth? Where were you before that? I made an account on Dreamwidth in August 2009, but I didn’t post here then, I was active on LJ and that was enough for me. Before LJ it was Yahoo groups (for The X Files and OZ fandoms) and before that a forum for my first fandom – The Vampire Chronicles.
What do you post about: Mostly fannish things
Your other fandoms include: Right now SCI Mystery, I dabble occasionally in a few of my old fandoms, as in re-watching and checking if there is a new fic posted. :)
Post frequency: A few times a month usually
Access policy: I don’t lock fannish posts. I make maybe one or two personal posts a year and I lock those. But I usually grant access to people I subscribe right away.

Ahhh another Chu Shuzhi/Guo Changcheng fan! I love them so much too, they're just so adorable together. I loved when Xiao-Guo took his boyfriend home to meet the family, that was adorable. Although somewhat less successful when Chu Shuzhi did the same.......

They are adorable. I loved Chu Shuzhi from the start, but it took me a few episodes to warm up to Guo Changcheng. So that pairing crept on me and suddenly somewhere after episode 8 or 9 I realized that I ship them. :) And yep, meeting the Guo family scene was so good...

It is a magical show. I never thought that I would feel inspired to write fanfic again. And here I am - with 4 Guardian fics already. And it is a lot for me. :)

That's such a great pic--I love how Lao-Li and Da Qing are together. Their relationship is also one of my favorites.

And I love the bittersweet ending too.

I always liked their relationship a lot. I love that Lao Li basically always treats Da Qing as a cat, even when Da Qing is in his human from. :D

Same here - and I am just realizing how many people Guardian did this for! It's so contagious a fandom that it amazes me.

I didn't know you were also in X-Files, back in the day. So was I! I hung out in the Mulder/Krycek corner, and think back very fondly on those early days of my fannish youth. ;-)

X Files was my second fandom and my first based on a TV show and I will always have very fond memories about it. It introduced me to so many new fannish things – fanvids for instance. Mulder/Krycek was and will always be my OTP, but later I also became very enamored with Mulder/Krycek/Scully. *nostalgic smile*
