Our lovely fandom continues to grow beyond our wildest expectations! Comm membership has just hit 100 98 (and we got impatient)! *shameless champagne and ballooooons*

A few small notes and reminders:

1. The Welcome/Intro post and the Fannish Resources post are still alive and kicking. Feel free to drop in at any time and say hi, or give us all your resource links (even the ones that might seem really obvious)!


2. Lurking is also totally fine, of course! *waves to lurkers*

In particular, it would be great if you could use the canon: drama and/or canon: novel tags, since it’s not always obvious to us mods which should apply, including for fanart or vids that use drama visuals but draw on novel elements. Guardian-specific stuff
Drama, novel or both? Drama. I read some of the novel translation but found I preferred the verse and characters in the drama.
Fannish about canon, actors, related shows, RPF or some combination of these? Mainly canon, although I do find Zhu Yilong and Bai Yu adorable and enjoy watching interviews with them and looking at pretty pictures.
How long have you been in the fandom? About three or four weeks now?
Where can we find your fanworks, if any: All my writing is on AO3, although right now I've only written one small Guardian fic. I have a long AU in the works, but it will be quite a while before I'm ready to post that.
Other points of interest regarding your Guardian fannishness: I wish that I knew more/any Chinese, and I am just so thankful for all the wonderful fans who provide subtitles and translations! I love all the meta discussions on this comm too.

Posting habits
How long have you been on Dreamwidth? Where were you before that? I've been on DW since 2011. I was on LJ too, and was much more active there, but left LJ during the last mass exodus, and since then have been posting and using DW more.
What do you post about: Fandom squee and various RL-related things.
Your other fandoms include: Merlin, Rosemary Sutcliff works (including the Eagle of the Ninth), various anime fandoms particularly sports anime like Daiya No Ace or Kuroko No Basuke
Post frequency: Moderate
Access policy: Most of my posts are friends only

Anything else we should know about you? I'm really eager to add more Guardian friends so that when I squee about the show I don't just hear crickets. Other things--I have a PhD in history, so am always eager to geek out about anything historical.

Haha, that particular quote in Chinese is even better. It's a super common saying that literally translates to: "When food is ready, I only need to open my mouth. When my clothes are ready, I just need to stick out my hands." Basically someone who is super spoiled and has everything done for them.

I know-- I love how he raises absolutely zero protests over Shen Wei cleaning his apartment, folding his clothes, cooking him meals, etc. I mean, there isn't even a polite, "I'm saying this because I feel I should but don't really mean it" protest. :D

My area of focus was 20th century U.S. environmental history, women's and gender history, and the history of sexuality.

Do you have a particular area you're the most interested in?

Oooh, any recs on the history front? I love the medieval period but it focuses mainly on England and not so much the rest of the UK. Um, and if you have any recs for the civil war period, I'd love that too - see the previous reason - though I know it's later that the medieval era. >.>

I bet medieval Scottish history is fascinating! (I know basically zero about it). My focus is 20th century U.S. environmental/women's and gender/history of sexuality. My dissertation focused on the 1920s and 1930s, though, so I know the most about that.
