Guardian fandom friending meme!!!
Our lovely fandom continues to grow beyond our wildest expectations! Comm membership has just hit 100 98 (and we got impatient)! *shameless champagne and ballooooons*
A few small notes and reminders:
And now, without further ado...
Since some of us are new to Dreamwidth, and some of us are new to Guardian, it seems like a good time for a Dreamwidth friending meme. Come and meet new people! (Re)Populate your DW circle!
To participate, just copy the text below, paste it into a new comment and tell us about yourself. (All information is optional.) Then read through other people's comments and say hi / follow them as desired.
(Many thanks to
teaotter for prettifying the banner pic! <3)
A few small notes and reminders:
- The Welcome/Intro post and the Fannish Resources post are still alive and kicking. Feel free to drop in at any time and say hi, or give us all your resource links (even the ones that might seem really obvious)!
- Lurking is also totally fine, of course! *waves to lurkers*
- Please tag your posts to the comm so other users can easily find what they’re looking for. In particular, it would be great if you could use the canon: drama and/or canon: novel tags, since it’s not always obvious to us mods which should apply, including for fanart or vids that use drama visuals but draw on novel elements. This is our current list of tags, and we’ll add more type tags as the need arises.
- You can find the full (updated) comm rules on the profile page.
- Feel free to promote
sid_guardian on your journal or elsewhere. (Here's a graphic and text.)

Guardian-specific stuff
Drama, novel or both? drama only
Fannish about canon, actors, related shows, RPF or some combination of these? canon, mainly. I love Zhu Yilong and Bai Yu and occasionally read RPF, but I'm not really fannish about them. Same goes for related shows. (I've seen Granting You a Dreamlike Life and part of Border Town Prodigal, though I'm still waiting for it to be fully subbed.)
How long have you been in the fandom? I fell into Guardian in October, and never looked back.
Where can we find your fanworks, if any: on AO3! Not that I've finished much, but there are two Guardian fics so far.
Other points of interest regarding your Guardian fannishness:
Posting habits
How long have you been on Dreamwidth? Where were you before that? My main fandom base was LJ for a long time. I made a DW as a backup, and then gradually drifted over here over the course of several years. I still crosspost.
What do you post about: fandom and writing, mostly - meta, squee, random thoughts or links, exchanges, wailing and gnashing of teeth when the writing isn't flowing, that sort of thing. *g*
Your other fandoms include: Before I fell into Guardian, my main fandoms were Doctor Who, Grimm and Sherlock Holmes (including various adaptations). Guardian takes first place right now, but those are still in second place. And then there are all my other fandoms, because I'm very multifannish and never really leave anything behind. All of these may make an appearance at times - Highlander, Stargate Atlantis, Coldfire, Harry Potter, or a million others. *g*
Post frequency: ... erratic, I suppose. Sometimes daily, and then sometimes there are large gaps when life happens.
Access policy: I don't post much under lock, so I don't really have a policy.
Anything else we should know about you? Sci-fi is my first love. Almost all of my fandoms are either sci-fi or fantasy, with a single big exception for anything Sherlock Holmes-related. Everything's better with spaceships or swordfights. Or spaceships and swordfights! Both is good too. *g*
(You should also know that I had this whole comment typed up and then lost it when I accidentally closed the tab. /o\)

Here, have Shen Wei trolling Zhao Yunlan with bears:
Re: trobadora
I would ask to friend you for the bears if I hadn't already friended you. Best trolling ever.

I really love the ending of the drama too. It has such an emotional impact, and while sad in some respects was not a depressing sort of sad.

Re: trobadora
I'm with you!!! I love the drama so much. I like the drama's decision to use time travel, I'm fine with the drama's ending, and I really love the drama's versions of the characters. I find them a lot different from the novel, and tbh I like the drama versions more. Even the low budget production values I just find endearing, and it makes me proud of how much they were able to do on so little money lol. I'm all in with this show haha.
Re: trobadora
I love the drama characters and their world so much, and I wish there wasn't so much fic that randomly mixes in novel characterisation or worldbuilding, because it really doesn't fit.
And I'm always happy to find someone else who's good with the ending! Friending you now. :D
Re: trobadora
Also, I grew up on Power Rangers and 90s scifi, I can't complain about production values. XD

That trolling scene cracked me up so bad,I loved it.Look at his totally normal, cool face!XD
OOhhh!!I used to be a huge fan of Grimm but then got out of it though I get the thing about various fandoms making an appearance at times, like Sherlock,DW or HP aren't things I icon obsessively but if I want to enter an icontest,I'd suddenly want to do so. :)
'I really, really, REALLY love the drama. I haven't fallen this fast, this hard for anything in a long time, and no matter what anyone says, I don't think any part of it is actually bad.' This happened to me too.
Re: trobadora
And a lot of people seem to have had that experience of suddenly falling HARD for Guardian! :D
