Hi everyone!
I am very new to Guardian but I have binge watched all 40 episodes in a week and am a bit overwhelmed. I kept hearing about this show (e.g. from trobadora and the Be the Serpent podcast) and checked it out. You know how the rest goes.

I rewatched episode 1 today and tried to find out what cinched the whole thing for me (of course I also needed some comfort after the finale):

1 - Shen Wei's first smile right at the start
2 - Zhao's general octopus manner with Guo
3 - the lollipop moment, that's the one that made me sit up and take notice
4 - Shen Wei's heart eyes when he meets Zhao Yunlan

Welcome to a very fun obsession! :-) I would say you have a head start over most of us - it took me waaaay longer to watch all the eps than that!

The lollipop moment with Guo? Interesting! Might I ask what caught your attention about that?

Oh, the heart eyes. They were definitely part of what drew me in - the absolutely stunned disbelief/amazement when Shen Wei catches sight of Zhao Yunlan for the first time, and then the dawning excitement and joy and nervousness and hope - and the helpless heart eyes. :-)

Re lollipop moment:

Well Zhao arrives very bad-boy style on his motorbike, the atmosphere is scary with the jittering Guo. Then he simply grabs him and pulls him into SID ...

... and then he CHANGES completely and plays a huge prank on Guo:

NO THAT'S MY LOLLIPOP. *suggestive look*



I sat up and went, did he really just do that? And after he just slooooowly pulls the lollipop out of his mouth. My brain was fried.

ROFL! Yep, Zhao Yunlan certainly does know how to make a strong first impression. ;-)
