I've been lurking for a bit, but never properly introduced myself. I fell into the Guardian pit via a fanvid recommendation during the summer, and I still haven't crawled out of the hell basement! I genuinely think Guardian is the best romance I've seen/read across all mediums in 2018.

Shen Wei with his repressed, stoic pining and steadfast, self-sacrificing loyalty/devotion. Zhao Yunlan with his endless patience and his devil-may-care attitude hiding his more sensitive and deeply intense emotional core. Shen Wei being young and open, falling head-over-heels for the older man who offers him friendship and affection. Zhao Yunlan going from suspicious (but thirsty) to adoring (but thirsty) when it comes to Shen Wei. The found family dynamics of the SID team, and Zhao Yunlan’s loyalty/protectiveness of them is something I love as well.

Favourite Scene:

(Serious) - The kitchen scene at the end of Episode 23. That look in Shen Wei's eyes. The way his gaze falls to Zhao Yunlan's lips. So much heat and tension.

(Less Serious) - The lollipop scene. Please somebody let me see the script for that scene, because the script directions cannot possibly say: Shen Wei performs fellatio on a lollipop.

I am super new to dreamwidth? As in, I got an account millions of years ago and only recently started using the journal. Right? It's so good. The romance is so central to the plot without being the plot, and I just love everything about it.

Yes. The whole thing is just so romantic, and it hits all the best tropes - identity porn, loyalty kink, pining, self-sacrificing idiots. And the chemistry is just off the charts!

Yes! I feel exactly the same. It's so satisfying, and the series gives me so much in emotional terms - a feast rather than the crumbs I am more used to.

The scene you name are both wonderful. The lollipop scene - the way Shen Wei is looking at Kunlun, and Kunlun is watching him back... there is no way that was an accident, come on. (And also, I suspect young!Shen Wei's intentions are not quite as innocent as his wide eyes may suggest. *g*)

That suggestive look on Kunlun's face while he instructs young Shen Wei in licking that lollipop... You know exactly what he's thinking. Never over that scene!

And do you think young Shen Wei has an idea of what he's doing with his wide eyes glued to Kunlun's face and kittenish licking...? Besides, ahem. Licking the lollipop. ;-) (I started out thinking he was innocent as the driven snow and a herd of fluffy baa-ing lambs, but these days I have grown cynical and suspcious. *g*)

I feel like young Shen Wei was too unapproachable to have had any first-hand experience back then. But also his powers are learning? Which combined with his eagerness to please Kunlun probably results in a pretty fast learning curve. He sees what makes Kunlun grin more and more, so his lollipop licking gets more and more obscene as the conversation goes on.

I haven't reached the lollipop scene yet,lol.But that kitchen scene has become one of the many scenes that make me want to give Shen Wei a great big hug and just maybe give Zhao Yunlan a tiny push (shove) towards him and accidentally kiss him. :3 His eyes made me want to cry. T_T
