sid_guardian is a noticeboard/community for:

• linking Guardian fanworks of all kinds


• linking to Guardian-related news (incl. info about the actors and their other roles) and meta (incl. serious meta, squee, picspams, episode reactions, writing-meta)


• making Guardian recs, and


• making fanworks-finder/rec-finder posts.

Which is to say, it's for letting Guardian fans find each other on Dreamwidth. :)

As the comm develops, we hope to introduce social, discussion and/or prompt posts, but given it's December, we thought we'd start small and manageable.

Hi! I'm Ami, and I binged the show last week and fell in love.

Both ZYL and SW are adorable and my favorites, though all the members of SID have a special place in my heart.

I'm usually a writer (though idk how much Iwill be able to contribute) and a devoted reader and commenter, so you'll probably see me squeeing over fanfic either in DW or AO3 (in which I'm AmiLu).

Guardian is my first Cdrama and it will probably drive me to learn Chinese, because that's just who I am.

I don't yet have a favorite scene, because all the scenes are so fantastic (particularly the ZYL/SW ones) that it's difficult to choose. Maybe once I rewatch the whole show I'll be able to mention one.

hi and welcome! i found out about the show very recently too and binged it immediately, just like you. it's been very nice to rewatch more slowly; i think you will find a lot of great moments once they're not all in a big pile. enjoy!!! :)

Binge-watching is not what I wanted to do, mind you, as I have to sit for a final soon, but I couldn't help it. It was just!! Too good!!

Now that I've finished it I'll definitely rewatch it more slowly in order to enjoy every scene <3

I don't have a favorite scene either - I agree entirely that it's too difficult to choose! In the first ep alone, we have the lovely introductory scenes, and the scene where Shen Wei first catches sight on Zhao Yunlan, and the very sudden and super-casual appearance of the Black-Cloaked Envoy in person (where you can practically see him going "OMG he is talking to me" internally *g*)...

This show is so addictive. Yes, yes it is!! I watched the first uh, four episodes one night and I had to force myself to stop there and go to sleep. It was so hard ;-; I'd be fun to know how many people binge-watched it!

and the scene where Shen Wei first catches sight on Zhao Yunlan, Actually, funny story there, it was a pic of this very scene in a post on tumblr that got me interested in watching the show. I just. Those puppy eyes? I immediately searched for the show and I was doomed.

It seems to have that effect on a lot of people! Someone should totally write Chinese lessons with Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan. *g*

Yes! For me too. And a few non-SID characters as well. (Especially Li Qian!) I wasn't expecting to like her so much after the first few episodes (I mean, I wasn't really expecting her to appear again, even) and then BAM! She's back and she's quiet but she's on SID's side and so helpful? And pretty. Yes, yes, I love her.

Someone should totally write Chinese lessons with Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan. *g* I'd gladly jump onto that bandwagon if it comes to it!
