sid_guardian is a noticeboard/community for:

• linking Guardian fanworks of all kinds


• linking to Guardian-related news (incl. info about the actors and their other roles) and meta (incl. serious meta, squee, picspams, episode reactions, writing-meta)


• making Guardian recs, and


• making fanworks-finder/rec-finder posts.


• ETA: You can also post content directly to the comm.

Which is to say, it's for letting Guardian fans find each other on Dreamwidth. :)

Please link your Guardian-related posts here! Whether novel or drama, this is the place for it. Don't be shy, and please encourage other Guardian posters to link as well. You can also link to/rec things that have been posted by others.

As the comm develops, we hope to introduce social, discussion and/or prompt posts, but given it's December, we thought we'd start small and manageable.

To kick things off, if you feel like it, tell us a bit about how you ended up in Guardian fandom! Or let us know your favourite character or scene from Guardian, or what your power would be if you were Dixingren.

Hello! I'm glymr. Years and years ago I was into Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, and a bit of DN Angel.

I lost my mojo for awhile, then found it again and participated heavily on LJ and DW in the DC comic fandom, mostly Batman, Superman, Robin-related stuff (I think about 90% of the stuff I wrote back then featured Tim Drake slashed with either Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, or Connor Kent). I guess some people remember Perennial and my collab Kings Among Runaways from back then.

When TPTB at DC comics decided to kill the great stuff that they were bringing out, I lost my mojo again. I was out of fandom for a long time, but last year fell heavily into Dresden Files (a fandom which is pretty dead, even if the series is still technically coming out) and Detroit: Become Human (a game which has an active fandom on Twitter). Recently I fell much more heavily into Guardian after reading the Rec Center newsletter's explainer and watching all of it in about 6 days or so.

I just. Can't stop thinking about it. Reading about it. Watching it. Obsessing about it...

I'm a bit late to the party, but it looks like this is still an active fandom, so. *deep breath*

Hiii I'm no longer the last person on this post, yay! I was wondering where you'd found me and checked here on a hunch (hope that's not...as creepy as it looks now that I've typed it.) We're a VERY active fandom still, thank goodness, because my own Guardian obsession does not seem to be fading. I have no authority here but I'm sure we're all delighted to have you! FRESH MEAT. :D

Yeah, when Butcher stalled out on the latest book, the Dresden Fandom kind of died, which was a shame, because they had an AMAZING kinkmeme going on for a long time there. I just found it about seven years too late.

Ha, actually, when I said I've read in Dresden Files, I should have been clearer that I've only read fanfic. I got the impression the original source would be much less to my taste. ;-) I did enjoy a lot of things about the TV show, though. /digression

That's fair! Although I personally feel that DF rightfully only deserved about half the criticism and discourse it received, and that some of its better aspects were glossed over or outright ignored.

BUT! That's neither here or there.

I probably should have said more about what I like about Guardian in my self-introduction, huh? I read what I could find translated of the novel, but I confess, it was the drama that won my love.

This is definitely an active fandom, and it's even still growing! It's slowed down a bit, but we still keep getting new people, which is fantastic. So glad you found us!

Haha, yeah, I think that happened to all of us. For me it's been almost a year now, and I still can't stop thinking about it. So, uh, warning - it's probably not going to go away any time soon. *g*

I think I may have told you? I'd seen some wonderful videos (thanks to bonibaru and lola!) and was interested, but it wasn't until the Rec Center post that I actually started watching. And I was so glad I did! Thank you so much for helping get me into this lovely fandom! <3

I am sad about missing Escapade this year and again next year, both the 2024 dates and the 2025 dates being time-off-from-work requests for which I was not given the okay.

Oh, what a bummer! ;_; It's not official yet, but we're looking at returning to the third weekend in February in 2026. Do you think that will work better for you? (Don't request the time off yet; we still have to make sure the hotel costs will work for that weekend before officially reserving it.)

Late February is a more likely time for me to be able to get time off from work. (And as for "don't request the time off yet," my employer wouldn't even consider a time-off request this far in advance anyways.)
