Welcome to SID Guardian!
Hi, and welcome to SID Guardian!
sid_guardian is a noticeboard/community for:- linking Guardian fanworks of all kinds
- linking to Guardian-related news (incl. info about the actors and their other roles) and meta (incl. serious meta, squee, picspams, episode reactions, writing-meta)
- making Guardian recs, and
- making fanworks-finder/rec-finder posts.
- ETA: You can also post content directly to the comm.
Which is to say, it's for letting Guardian fans find each other on Dreamwidth. :)

As the comm develops, we hope to introduce social, discussion and/or prompt posts, but given it's December, we thought we'd start small and manageable.

I don't remember how I got into Guardian - I think there was a rec post somewhere that I left for later viewing and then weeks later somehow I got sucked in and never really came back out... It's pretty much the first fandom in *years* to make me feel fan-ish again.
I have too many favourite scenes - I guess if I were to pick, I would say the first episode where Shen Wei wouldn't let go of Zhao Yun Lan's hand and then they hinted at the history/backstory because that set off the spark of fan-ishness and made me go '???' because it was so *obvious* and it hit all of my favourite tropes (meet cute, pining, secret mysterious backstory, soulmates meeting (again??) and adorable extrovert/introvert pairing, complex dynamics)... the list goes on and on!
It's been, uh, around 10 years since I was last active in fandom, I think, so I'm a bit rusty. I guess this is the power of Shen Wei and Zhao Yun Lan - pulling people back to fan-ish glee since 2018! It's been fun seeing some familiar names around here though. Hopefully I will be less of a lurker, it's been tough dusting off these cobwebs ;)

I'm so delighted by how many people say Guardian has drawn them back into fannishness, and I hope you'll have lots of fun here with the rest of us! So many familiar faces, yes ...

It is! Never been so obsessed so quickly. I remember binge watching for 3 days straight (thankfully I had time away from work and weather was bad enough that no one complained about me being a hermit!) :D
