Favourite flavour: see icon! It's just such a fabulous outfit, and he's being so fabulous with it. And I love the ponytail, so much. :D
The missing cloak: I don't think Ye Zun's cloak is in the wash - he has that very neat stain-removing power - but I love your other options. Voting for the draught-stopper, that's so important! :D

and also "other", for long white robe in the palace, being utterly deranged trying to talk ZYL into joining him after he kills SW.
Oh, yes! Great choice. Like, he just has no idea. (There's so much in that final stretch.)

ALLLL the dramatic flair! :D
Voting for the draught-stopper, that's so important! :D
Hee! It probably helped to keep things quiet, too. \o/

Yessss, both of these! I nearly voted for "other" just because of your comment but idk if it strikes me as frightening per se, but it definitely strikes me as something, it is so wonderfully deranged indeed.
"It's just such a fabulous outfit, and he's being so fabulous with it. And I love the ponytail, so much. :D"
HELL YEAH, and it's winning in the poll too. :D ♡
"I don't think Ye Zun's cloak is in the wash - he has that very neat stain-removing power"
Lolol, I didn't even think of that. :D Does it mean he never has to wash any clothes? It's so practical and time-saving. xD

It’s one hell of a ballsy move, I’ll give him that. Also really stupid though.

❤❤❤
The ponytail is such a great detail❤

My votes for most frightening:
My favourites are:
For the cloak, I chose "He doesn't like how it feels over his hair, especially with the hood up" -- I actually think that's plausible? After all that time in the pillar, it wouldn't be surprising if he had some touch sensitivity.
no subject
This alone made me add that to my vote. :D :D

Ahh, I like this option so much! ♡ I added it to my vote too, then I removed it because the fashion option was too perfect to vote for anything else, lol, and now I went back and added it yet again because in the end it's too good not to, and makes so much sense!

Oooh, yes, he is ruthless!
monologuing in the park, because I love how polite he is at first, bowing and meeting Zhao Yunlan like he's trying to recruit him, ha
Haha, that is glorious indeed. Love the bow especially.
that SID lab scene is so fantastic: the little laughs, the eyeroll when Wang Zheng and Sang Zan sacrifice themselves, and before that, the way he's practically drooling over the Hallows. Plus, of course, "Xiao Yunlan." :D
All true! He’s having a lot of fun there, isn’t he? Not quite as much as when he terrorizes the minister, but still.

Yeah, that's a very good point!
100% agreed that the disguised-as-SW scene is fantastic all over. I can't even say which bit I like best; it's all in the way he's just not Shen Wei, so clearly and visibly. Oh - maybe the best detail is that he pushes up his glasses differently from SW! So much love for that. :D
I actually think that's plausible? After all that time in the pillar, it wouldn't be surprising if he had some touch sensitivity.
Yeah, it would make sense to me too, but the draught excluder was funnier, so I went with that. *g*

Most terrifying: Disguised as the Envoy, hands down. But I'm also voting for the shadowy shape with glowy eyes, just to give him some points for really trying, lol, and also I feel like it would probably be the most terrifying irl because you'd have no idea what this thing could even DO.
Favorite: Ponytaillllll, as I said before. :D Gods, he's GORGEOUS. ♡♡♡ He can do whatever he likes and I'll just be *HEART EYES* ngl. But I read the comments first and I'm also adding impersonating regular Shen Wei because ~~~MY LITTLE YUNLAN, check out my new outfit it's just for you~~~ asdfgfdhsjkalskhfdjsk, just his absolute certainty that this is what Shen Wei says on the regular is A++++ wonderful. :D :D
It may not be a Ye Zun thing per se, it may be a Weilan thing, but still. :D(ETA: And now I thought of the deleted scene, okayyyy yes, this look definitely gets my vote Ye-Zun-wise too. :D)
Cloak: "he keeps up with the trends unlike *some* people", 100%, and I can totally see him literally saying that, whether it's actually true or not. :D :D

Great choices! It’s amazing how subtly wrong fake-Heipaoshi feels❤
Gods, he's GORGEOUS. ♡♡♡
He is!!!
just his absolute certainty that this is what Shen Wei says on the regular is A++++ wonderful
I just love that he knows what kind of relationship his brother has with Zhao Yunlan, but has no clue about the details/what it actually looks like in everyday life.

Haha, yeah, I can't find him frightening in that scene because I'm just all :D :D :D for the entire duration, it's so dellightful. :D
just his absolute certainty that this is what Shen Wei says on the regular is A++++ wonderful
It totally counts as a Ye Zun thing, because it's so telling about his skewed perspective on Shen Wei, and how certain he is that his delusions are the truth.
ETA: And now I thought of the deleted scene, okayyyy yes, this look definitely gets my vote Ye-Zun-wise too. :D
Do you mean the one with Jiajia? That one is so creepy! I'm so glad it's not canon! (Jiajia Lives Forever!!!1!11!!!)
and I can totally see him literally saying that, whether it's actually true or not. :D :D
LOL!

Yay, I'm awake, I can Ye Zun properly. :D :D
Yay! (Mid-year timezones are the worst for me. I keep missing everyone.)
But I'm also voting for the shadowy shape with glowy eyes, just to give him some points for really trying, lol
LOL, yes! That's a very scary look, plus in that scene he's tormenting Chu Shuzhi with visions of his brother, while chained!Shen Wei looks on.
He can do whatever he likes and I'll just be HEART EYES ngl.
LOLOL! (He seems very "drama kid" to me? NB: I have zero experience of drama kids, except in media.)
I'm also adding impersonating regular Shen Wei because ~~~MY LITTLE YUNLAN, check out my new outfit it's just for you~~~ asdfgfdhsjkalskhfdjsk, just his absolute certainty that this is what Shen Wei says on the regular is A++++ wonderful. :D :D
It's all so good, EVERYTHING about that scene. :D :D :D :D :D The little open-mouthed gasp-laugh when ZYL shoves his gun into Ye Zun's ribs!! :D :D :D :D
and I can totally see him literally saying that, whether it's actually true or not. :D :D
LOL! :D :D

I picked the white suit as most frightening, because he is so sure of himself in that scene. This is a man who holds all the cards and has nothing to fear.
Almost picked the Heipaoshi disguise, for similar reasons: He’s unstoppable, now commanding Heipaoshi’s political power on top of his own abilities.
For my favourite, I split it between the white suit and disguised as Professor Shen :D
Love the drought-stopper option, but I still believe it’s a fashion choice :P

LOL, I didn't even go there at first, but now that you say it *LICKS YE ZUN* ;D
"I picked the white suit as most frightening, because he is so sure of himself in that scene. This is a man who holds all the cards and has nothing to fear."
He really IS terrifying in this scene, and yet he's so unfairly hot while doing that that I manage to ignore this fact every single time. xD If I were a character I'd be toast, at least until he changes his hair, lol.
"For my favourite, I split it between the white suit and disguised as Professor Shen :D"
*high five* Same, and YAY ponytail supremacy. :D

Yes! It's an amazing scene. Unfortunately (?) I'm way too :D :D :D over Ye Zun in that scene to find him frightening, even though I recognise that he objectively is. *g*

Oh yes, great point! He has the audience completely in the palm of his hand. And after all, Shen Wei ~doesn't deserve~ that political power, so it's extra satisfying to Ye Zun to wield it however he wants.
Love the drought-stopper option, but I still believe it’s a fashion choice :P
That makes sense. So many of his choices are about appearance (and look who he chose as his first lieutenants: Zhu Jiu and Ya Qing!). :D

I'm just going to add this as a random comment: the big version of the second-to-last cap, with Envoy!Ye Zun holding the Lantern, keeps making me laugh, because that's such an exaggeratedly deranged expression. "I have you, my preciousssssssss." :D

Another ponytail!Ye Zun icon!! Excellent!! :D
The golden mask looks great on him, and actually it's Shen Wei who patterned his modern-day mask off Ye Zun's, so that makes didi the trendsetter.
Ohh, great point! Ha, I'd never noticed that. (Now I feel I should do a "chronology of masks" post/poll. *makes a note* :-)

I'm not fond of his black energy blob era, but he's great in every ohter version. Embodied: looks great! Energy projection: looks great! Pillar voice: ominous as hell! All excellent. :D

"The golden mask looks great on him, and actually it's Shen Wei who patterned his modern-day mask off Ye Zun's, so that makes didi the trendsetter."
Omg, how did I never realize that! I guess Shen Wei is only into modern Haixing fashion, not into mysterious-looking Dixing fashion? xD He needs to get ideas for that from someone else. :D (And then Ye Zun fails at doing modern fashion Shen-Wei-style, so I'd say they're even, but then again the ponytail look is such a perfect blend of both styles that Ye Zun still wins in the end. :D)
