Shen Wei in the rain: almost certainly "it's worth it," but I also wonder if he doesn't go away inside his head for a while to standing guard in the rain some time ten thousand years ago in the middle of a war.
Ha, maybe? I feel like if he were standing guard, he might take some measures to stop himself being soaked through, though. It's not good practice to have your sentries be uncomfortable for long periods of time, surely?
Also, I am firmly convinced that Shen Wei walks to work. He likes the chance to spend time under the sky.
I love the idea of him walking and agree about the sky, but I have this impression the new apartment is inconveniently far from campus. Wasn't that mentioned when he first looked at it? Maybe he walks half an hour along the river and then gets a taxi or tram for the final leg to the university?

Yes, probably true. On the other hand, this is Shen "我没事 I'm fine" Wei, and maybe there were times when he took the rainy guard shifts so no one else would have to, and decided not to spare the dark energy to keep himself dry. Or he did stay dry then, but there's still something about the long tired motionless vigil for something you believe in that brings it back.

You're right! I'd forgotten that. During canon I suspect he portals a lot, then, just because he doesn't have time to spare between working his three jobs; after canon (sigh) I still think he might walk when he can make the time, just for the pleasure of it. Or maybe Dragon City has a decent tram system, I'd like that.

Ohh, I really like that. Just the echo of the steadily falling (endless) rain. (And maybe remembering that one time after Kunlun arrived, where he came to keep Shen Wei company on watch, and laughed at him and brought him a snack, and they argued about whether Kunlun should go somewhere dry since he wasn't on duty...)
