Subtitle update

I finished 23-25 so this is everything from 6 to 30, with the exception of 28, which I left alone for now because it's an Orange Biscuit sub and therefore much less problematic than some of the others.

Two versions:

The OLD one which is the style I had until now.

OLD version here at MEGA

The LAO one which has Lao Chu and Xiao Guo (and associated changes), plus Chu-ge and Hong-jie. I'm pretty sure that with the Laos and Xiaos I caught everything that's relevant, but less sure about the 'ge' and 'jies' so if there are instances you spot that I missed out I'll be grateful if you tell me so I can fix it. (Or any other fuckuppis. I'm very happy with constructive feedback and not at all precious about my Chinese language skills (HAHAHAHA))

Yay! Thank you so much for these! I am on episode 3 of my rewatch, so I'm looking forward to reading your subtitles when I hit 6. I do have a question, though, since I haven't done this before. How do I apply your subtitle files? Do I need to find un-subtitled mp4s on Youtube and link the files somehow, or do I use subtitled mp4s, but do something in properties? I'd know how to swap things out if I was grabbing the episodes as two separate files, but they download as just the mp4, so I'm not sure how to switch your subtitles in for the ones that already show up.

Edited because I just noticed you do know what to to with two separate files (which I should really have guessed).

There are two different Guardian playlists on youtube: one is all softsubs and one has the Orange Biscuit ones as hardsubs. I guess you have your videos from that one. You'll find that from 6 onwards you'll get mostly softsubs.

I'll make an upload of the unsubbed 1-5,23,28,34 bundle and link it for you.

Actually, your initial reply was very helpful, because it reminded me I had the JDownloader install but had never actually installed it. Once I did, and used that instead of going through Youtube's onsite downloader, the problem immediately became clear. Youtube's onsite downloader only grabs a compiled mp4, so when I downloaded an episode, it included the subtitles as though they were hardsubbed.

Once I downloaded the exact same link through JD, I got the bundled files, and was able to do a swap. I'm checking to see if the Orange Biscuit subs in this same playlist are hardsubbed. I don't know if you're planning to eventually do all the eps, but I want to be able to swap in your subs, if you do.

So, no need to upload more files. Thank you for being willing to go to the trouble, though!
