Slo-Mo Rewatch: Guardian episode 7, part 2

Hi, welcome to this week's instalment of the Guardian drama Slo-Mo Rewatch! Watch half an episode a week, and then come and chat about it here in comments. Or you can just jump into the comments without rewatching, of course!
Here is last week's half-episode. On to the second half!
Episode 7, from 24:30
Summary: The SID finds Lai Su's house and confronts him. He reveals that someone promised him fame and fortune if he published webnovels, and he kept at it despite knowing about the murders. Lin Jing is disappointed and furious at his idol. Lai Su writes a final chapter to end his webnovel career, and ends up dying his character's death. Zhu Jiu tries to break into the SID and discovers the black energy shield. And Zhao Yunlan visits Shen Wei to talk about the case. Shen Wei is very touched that he sympathises with a Dixingren.

Quote:
Lin Jing: "If you can't take responsibility for every word you write, you don't deserve to be called an author. You don't even deserve to be called a person!"
Detail:
Lin Jing describes the final chapter of the webnovel with the monster's death as follows: "He was engulfed by guilt for his many crimes. In the end, his own reflection in a lake scared him to death."
Since we actually see the text of the chapter on screen, I thought it'd be fun to plug the screencaps into Google Translate - here's the result:

Questions:
Do you have a favourite line in in this half of the episode? What do you think about Lin Jing's angry words to Lai Su? How great is Lai Su's house? Any parallels between this case and the drama's overall plot? Any parallels with the novel you can think of? Why is Zhu Jiu only now discovering the SID's shield? What's your favourite part of the final scene between Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan?
(These are all just conversation starters - feel free to answer all, some, or none, and to say as much or as little as you like! You don't have to be keeping up with the rewatch to join in!)
And here is our schedule for the current batch of episodes - please do sign up to host a post if you can!

Awwww, yay! :D :D For me this happened during the identity reveal/Shen Wei offering himself up for Zhao Yunlan, but episode 8 is still my faaaavorite. :D ♡♡♡ And the taxi scene was one of the very first things I saw online without context, when I was watching the first or second episode. :D
"I actually recapped it before I knew anything much (I was trying to get a friend into it). I'd only seen up to ep 10 at that point, and I certainly didn't know anyone's names. *g*"
Awwww, this is ADORABLE! ♡♡♡ And it made me realize how little of Wang Zheng we have seen before this episode. And "a cat shape-shifter who still manages to sprawl on furniture less than Chief Zhao does" is a wonderful assessment that remains factual no matter how many episodes you watch. xD :D

:D :D :D :D :D *twirls dorkily* At one point I planned to recap all the episodes, but with all the scene discussions and rewatching it seems rather redundant now (and sooo time consuming). :D

(And lol, I've never considered a dramaverse animation before! I think I'd stick to novelverse for that. :D :D)

and when he's desperately trying to flirt in yesterday's clothes that he was sitting on the sidewalk in
LOLOLOL! I'm always slightly distressed that he doesn't manage to get a shower and change of clothes before he leaves the house. /o\
(Haha, yeah, when I thought the drama might be animation, I had zero interest. So the taxi ride gifs were magical in that they made me go, "Oh, wait, it's live action" and also "Ooooh, these guys are Very Attractive and getting Feelings all over each other, Yes Please!")

Yesssss omg THIS. ♡♡♡♡♡ There’s no mismatch here at all. :D This episode is 'favorite scene after favorite scene' for me, so even when I tried to list the top favorites I already ended up with three, but this is absolutely right up there too, especially the "would you please feed yourself properly, you deserve SO MUCH better than this" exasperation. ♡♡♡ (And then he feeds him! *MELTS*) (And then he continues to feed him!! ♡♡♡ asdfghfjdksl;;)
And Shen Wei recoiling from the fridge makes me think of this every single time. :D :D
(The source is gone, but my reblog is here.)
"I'm always slightly distressed that he doesn't manage to get a shower and change of clothes before he leaves the house. /o\"
If the clothes are good enough for flirting with Shen Wei, they're definitely good enough for work. xD :D :D
"Ooooh, these guys are Very Attractive and getting Feelings all over each other, Yes Please!"
:D :D That's such an accurate description. xD :D (I was already melting from all the feels when I first saw it because I already knew them a little bit. ♡♡♡ And I was also very impressed by how blatantly uncensored this scene was, even completely out of context, and then especially in context. :D)

Hee! And also, lol at the gif. :D

Omg, suddenly I wonder if SW used a cleaning power on his clothes while he slept?! And it's subtle enough that ZYL doesn't really register it (he's still feeling kind of groggy, so)? :D

It's ~~totally~~ just bros being bros, lololol. :D

Hee! I wouldn't put it past him. :D

Lol, he totally could have, and smelling himself was clearly not a priority for Zhao Yunlan. ;D He deemed the clothes totally fine, so he probably never gave them any thought? If Shen Wei cleaned them, it was for the benefit of everyone who was going to meet Zhao Yunlan that day. ;D :D

doesn't mindlikes cuddling with Zhao Yunlan when he's still a disaster. xD xD xD) (I had a cat who was obsessed with earwax btw. xD) (And yep, one of my current cats will cover up bread with anything she can, mostly scratching at the wall, but sometimes she will actually drag random things onto the plate if you leave bread unattended. xD)no subject
