because the large round fan-shaped thing is not where the cold air is coming from! The actual vent is on the opposite wall and much smaller. I don't know if that means jamming it would have been more or less difficult

Going from the dorms to suddenly getting an apartment (and especially the real estate agent being all 'I have a better one for someone like you' - presumably a more expensive one) made me wonder how much money he really has, but yeah, if anything he probably has saved a lot by just not buying much of anything ever.

Yeah, I don't think he's living in the dorms because he can't afford anything else. I think it's probably the done thing for single teachers, and once you start a family, you buy a house/apartment. (Like kids living at home until they get married, too.)

Yeah, and before that he got a black energy-reinforced kick in the chest that knocked him out of the fight for a bit, so maybe he's not up to it, the same way Ye Huo can't use much of his fire power.

Oh good point! For some reason I thought Ye Huo's power was on the fritz because of the cold. But injury makes just as much (if not more) sense!

Shen Wei cooking for other students (when he was a student himself) and then for other teachers is one of my favorite concepts. :D He really likes cooking for people, all this love had to go somewhere before he found Zhao Yunlan. :D

Ye Huo is beaten up pretty badly, and Xiao-Guo is really worried about his condition, so that makes sense to me as a reason why his powers aren't working well.
