Guardian Novel Read-along round 2!

We're so happy with how the readalong is going! Thanks to everyone who's been part of the discussion (and to those who are lurking, too)! ♥

After the distractions of the season, we thought we'd take a week to give everyone a chance to catch up. So there won't be a post on 03 January, and we'll continue with new chapters on 10 January. In the meantime, feel free to pop in and join the discussion on any of the posts! (All discussion posts remain open indefinitely, so you can always join in there at any point, whether or not you're keeping up with our reading schedule.)

Fans of the novel, the drama, or both are very welcome! As you'll have noticed if you've dropped in on the posts so far, we also talk about the drama adaptation and do a lot of compare-and-contrast.

If you're willing to host one or more weeks, please comment with a date from the schedule below! Posts should ideally be made sometime on the Friday or Saturday, in any time zone.

also me: *single-handedly ran one of the biggest landcomms in livejournal history* *not single-handedly modded a forum of 2000+ people* These things just happen without me noticing, k.

What I mean is, sign me up. :D That being said, I'm not doing the closing part of volume 1 or the opening part of volume 2 for my very first try, lol. So that would leave me with chapters 3-4, presumably? (I totally decided this before checking what chapter 4 is, asdfghgfjdkl, but I'll be v professional in the post, I'll just be v weird in comments, lmfao.)

Is there a template somewhere, or do I just follow the format? Also someone who knows will need to tell me the corresponding chapters in the JJWXC/fan translation version because the official translation is all I have. :)

(I haven't looked to see what chapter 4 is, but now I'm definitely looking forward to it, hee!)

We don't have a template - you can just follow the format, or adapt it however works best. And I can check for the corresponding chapters - remind me closer to the time if I forget?

It's not that I don't want to know, I'm always happy to hear spoilers, I just don't want to read ahead and then have to read everything again for the readalong. *g* So I've been keeping strictly to two chapters per week.

So, I found out from here that chapters 3 & 4 are chapters 48, 49 & 50 in the fan translation. If you could confirm that this is true, then I'll just take the chapter numbers from there for any future posts I may make. :D (I have this one all written up already, thinking of snagging another one very soon. :D)

Hi! Yay, glad you're enjoying it!

I just double-checked, and that's right - chapter 3 in the official translation equates to chapter 48 in the fan translation/JJWXC version, and chapter 4 in the official translation equates to chapters 49 and 50 in the fan translation/JJWXC.
