Picspam: Fu You
We had a great discussion on Fu You's character post a few years ago, but I felt like doing a picspam for her, too. She doesn't get a lot of screentime, but I find her likeable and capable, as well as confident in her leadership position.
Note: I slightly lightened some of the interior screencaps. And I've tried to put them in her personal chronological order, but they got a bit jumbled in my screencaps folder so I had to guess which scenes a couple of them were from. Fingers crossed I got that right!

First Hallows transmission (ep 38), surprised to see Da Qing.

Second Hallows transmission (ep 40), dismayed at the state Zhao Yunlan is in.

I think this is the scene where Zhao Yunlan first arrives at Allied Forces HQ (ep 34).

Ditto.

Receiving the sacred branch from Ma Gui (ep 37).

At the signing of the treaty (ep 35).

Ditto?
And the rest are from the disbanding of the Allied Forces (ep 35):

Come and talk to me about Fu You! Do you like her? Do you have any favourite fanworks about her? Any theories about her place in the Allied Forces hierarchy, or speculation/head canons about what she did afterwards?

I like Fu You so much, and would've loved more scenes with her. <3
Yes, me too! Leading a war is such a tough business, it would have been fascinating to get more of a sense of her approach (and maybe the toll it took? I guess we get hints of that in her relief at ZYL's assurances).
So one speculation about post-canon I have is that in addition to Fu You's contributions and leadership during the rebellion, she was an important leader of the Snake Tribe afterward - maybe rebuilding/establishing their territories, etc.
Ooh, I love that idea! Maybe she founded the first Snake city? Or influenced the way the Snake and Crow tribes seem slightly militarised, as a permanent defence?
Also, she speaks of "poetry and peace" at some point, and I love the idea that some of her poetry might have been handed down. (And, just in general, it's great how the Yashou seem very happy to have women in leadership roles. :-)

Ooh, yes, that sounds amazing!

I especially would like to know more about her thoughts regarding the Yashou withdrawing, and how that gets passed down over the centuries and millennia.

I think she'd understand, even if it exasperated her. But oh, now I really want a political conversation between Fu You and Ya Qing!! Maybe Ya Qing could get her hands on the Hallows at some point and they could talk via the Hallows communication?? :D

It really does!

OHHHH what a brilliant idea!
Or what if Ya Qing ended up time-travelling back to YOHE? That would be amazing ...

Yeah, I love the idea, I'm definitely keeping that in the back of my head!
