Follow-up propspam (furniture)
In a comment to yesterday's propspam post I mentioned some of the furniture was reused in different sets.
velithya asked about which ones, and here are a few I remembered off the top of my head. It got too image-heavy for a comment, so I'm doing a separate post.
I think the biggest one is Zhao Yunlan's leather sofa:

Which is the same as the sofa upstairs in the SID:

(I never noticed this until someone -- I forget who, sorry! -- pointed it out on
sid_guardian!)
Zhao Yunlan's kitchen table and stools:

Are the same as the SID library table and stools:

(I just noticed this when I was going through the library scenes for the propspam post.)
Zhao Yunlan's wardrobe/cabinet:

Is the same as this cabinet beside the entry into the main SID space:

Also note the leather chair beside the cabinet, because it is the same as the chairs in Dragon City University's chancellor's office:

The chest of drawers Zhao Yunlan sets his TV on top of:

Is the same as this chest of drawers in the SID office:

(Another one I didn't notice until compiling the propspam post!)
They did such a good job of dressing each set differently, and of course the moods and plot focal points of the scenes are different. It never occurred to me that they had reused furniture and props until after I'd rewatched several times and was screencapping props I thought were cool. I'm always impressed by the details and the effort the production team put into the aesthetics of the show, despite the challenges they faced.
I'm sure there are other examples, and I would love to know the ones others have noticed!

Right? They did so well with giving all these places their own unique feel and character, it doesn't look like they're reusing things even when they are. Shows what magic you can create with set design! I love it.
Oh, and I totally buy that Zhao Yunlan had a comfortable sofa at home and decided he wanted the same one for the office, or vice versa. *g*
Thank you for compiling both these posts, they're fantastic! ♥

Yes, exactly! They really made the most of what they had. <3

I buy it, too! Zhao Yunlan likes to be comfortable. :D

Also I love that ZYL has the same sofa at home as the SID has upstairs :D :D :D
Although curiously at the SID he's always reclining on the downstairs one... maybe because it's more central?
