Dixing / terminology
I just found something really interesting in a Guardian trailer:
I only rewatched the trailer because I wanted to check if it was the same one I'd already saved (it was - I had, back in October), and I noticed what completely passed me by at the time: they use 地界 (Dijie) here instead of 地星 (Dixing). Has this been discussed elsewhere?
That is, I know there's been some discussion about the term "Dixing". In the drama as it aired, "Dixing" has clearly been dubbed in after the fact, and there's been some speculation about that – I remember
xparrot's post The Dixing Question - but what I'd read prior to this said it was 地府 (Difu, aka Hell) originally. I've never seen anyone mention this trailer.
I wonder if the Difu speculation was mistaken? Or maybe 地界 was an intermediate stage of some sort?
(For the record, this is a pretty good trailer! It covers the basic themes of the drama very well, the plot in the first half and the relationships in the second.)

Speaking with absolutely no background info... that's what I wondered watching this. Unless the different subs really throw me off, a lot of the early voiceover of this trailer strikes me as separately recorded, i.e. not actual lines from the show (beyond the Dixing / Dijie difference) but maybe recorded for the trailer? So maybe they were trying something else (knowing Difu had to go, but not decided on Dixing yet) that didn't stick around for the actual re-dub?
Just a guess, though!

That makes a lot of sense to me!
And I do think the initial voiceover is separately recorded, but I'm not sure about the dialogue with Dijie in it. LOL, am I obsessed enough to track down the scenes those lines come from, and compare directly? (Probably not today. But it's tempting!)
And it also makes sense that they settled on Dixing, right? Much more sci-fi, and they probably wanted to reinforce that as much as possible.

It's a dangerous path to go down... it's probably not the most useful allocation of resources, I have to admit, BUT definitely interesting, so, if you go down that rabbit hole, please share the results!

Because of the star in the name? That's a good point! (Though I don't really feel comfortable having a strong opinion on Chinese language things - too much clueless!)

The "star", yes - and 星 is also in all the planets' Chinese names. (Link.) Not that I know much about the language, so maybe I'm wrong, but it seemed fitting.
