Crossposting to Twitter? A poll.
*waves to you all*
Hey, so it turns out that, with a bit of setup, there's a way to automatically crosspost from Dreamwidth to Twitter (much thanks to
glymr for this info!), and we're thinking of setting that up for
sid_guardian, but we wanted to check in with you first. The tweets would just include subject lines and links to new posts on the comm, with some Twitter tags added.
ETA: Thank you all for weighing in! We definitely don't want to make people uncomfortable by crossposting against their wishes, so we won’t be going forward with this.

There may be other ways to do it - I think it might be possible to set up crossposting only for a specific tag - but then everyone would have to remember to tag their posts for them to crosspost.
ETA: Can I ask what exactly you're concerned about? Whatever we end up doing or not doing, we definitely want to take it into account!

...I feel like I'm breaking an unspoken rule by saying this but, on average, DW users seem to prefer the drama, while twitter users overall prefer the novel (this has led to some minor clashes). I'm unsure if mixing the two communities would be worthwhile.

I haven't been on Twitter in about ten years myself, and I don't know much about what the Guardian community is like, other than what people who are on both platforms sometimes share. But that was the impression I got from tumblr - that people there mostly preferred the novel. I do know I'm happy to have found lots of people here on DW who love the drama!

My concern is that Twitter shares a lot of space with non-fandom personalities, activities, etc. That's true of every platform to an extent, but on Twitter it's a lot easier to find and read any post you want.
I suppose it wouldn't be an issue if you made the Twitter feed private, so only people who are subscribed would be able to see the posts. That would make it more insular, and less accessible to "muggles" or just to people who are looking to start trouble (but don't use DW because it's for fandom olds or something XD).
I'm not on Twitter and don't plan to be, so it's not gonna do me much good either way, but I don't like the idea of my userid being even easier to find than it already is.
Paranoia strikes; I'mma go lock down some of my DW, maybe :-)

I know twitter can be pretty toxic *coughs*, but otoh, it's just a platform. A lot of fandom happens there, and it's a good platform for spreading news. So I'm for it.
People who are uncomfortable with it can perhaps comm lock their posts, so that whoever arrives actually has to get a DW account in order to see them.

(I'm not on Twitter myself either, for reasons!)
