Focus on Scenes -- round two claims!
Wow, round one was awesome! Bushels of kudos to the nine people who made such wonderful, thoughtful posts and hosted the discussions! *applauds* And of course, additional thanks to everyone who commented! We hope you got as much out of it as much as we did. :D :D :D If you haven't had your say on any of the posts, feel free to jump in at any time.
We're going to take a couple of weeks' break and kick off round two in the (western) new year, on 8/9 January. Who's in? Comment here to sign up for round two!
Reminder
Definition of a scene: for our purposes, a scene a) usually takes place in a single location, and b) may continue after cutting away to another scene and cutting back again. Keep in mind that a deep dive into a brief interaction or moment can be just as satisfying as a wider analysis of what's going on in a longer piece. Feel free to keep it as small and contained or make it as ambitious as you like!
Hosting simply means making a post about your scene and replying to comments. There's a template below, if you're not sure where to start with drafting your post; please include episode number and start/end timestamps, or chapter number and beginning/ending, as appropriate. If you want to include screencaps and can't make or find your own, we can help with that.
The novel and the drama are quite different, so you can just choose a scene from one or the other -- or if you want to compare parallel scenes from each canon, that’s great too! The discussion will be open to both, where applicable. People new to the fandom are very welcome! (Don't be shy!) But be aware that discussions may contain spoilers for the whole drama and for the entire novel.
Posts should go live sometime on the Friday or Saturday, according to the schedule below.
Template (optional)
Comment here to claim a scene by giving us an episode/chapter number and a brief description! For example, "ep 14, the car singing scene", or "ep 6, Zhao Yunlan & Da Qing search Shen Wei's flat". And remember to claim a date, too!

I'll hold off adding you to the schedule for a little while, if that's okay, in case other people have particular dates in February they're after -- but the scene and sometime in February are yours! :D :D :D
ETA: I've scheduled you for 26/27 February. :-) ♥

Scene claim
Could I do episode 20, the scene where Zhao Yunlan confronts Ye Zun in the park and holds him off with the Longevity Dial?
Slight preference for 15/16 January, but if someone else has a strong desire to cover those dates I can easily flex to any of the others in January.

(Also, ugh, I need to catch up on discussions! But it looks like that's not going to happen before the weekend ...)
