Tumblr feed
I am not sure this is really what we want, but I created a feed for
fuck-yeah-weilan's tumblr, just to see if it would work, and it does:
fuck_yeah_weilan_feed
You can subscribe to the feed like any other dw user and read their posts on your reading list. The format of the posts is a little weird because rss contains no styling information, but the images and videos seem to be loading fine.
The disadvantage of course is that they don't get direct feedback from you this way, so it feels a little iffy? But I guess for those who don't/can't stay on tumblr, this might be a practical alternative?
It is actually really easy to create feeds: tumblr natively supports rss, so if you want to create a feed for any tumblr, just add /rss to the end of the tumblr url and you have a feed: https://[username].tumblr.com/rss

Well, you can always follow the link in the DW feed and go back to the tumblr post! (And also, lots of people probably just scroll through things on tumblr without giving any sort of feedback ...)

Reading via an RSS-reader also allows me to browse through much faster (as I have my readers set to pre-fetch the images), and it allows me to save posts that I want to go back to later (to follow links, to save images, to reblog, etc).
I'm using feedly as my reader on desktop, and Reeder to check the feedly feed on mobile (I don't like the native feedly app). Previously I had The Old Reader on desktop, which was also very good (again with Reeder on mobile).

Figures that this would work better than native tumblr. :D Everything works better than native tumblr...
I'm going to keep that in mind if (when) I get kicked out of tumblr.
