So, in order to make the pillow-princess-Shen-Wei fic happen that extrapenguin very gallantly offered to write, we need some input.



The fic premise is based on two assumptions (correct me if I'm wrong):

1 Shen Wei is service oriented and has a hard time letting go and enjoying himself.
2 Yunlan wants to make it happen any way he can.

"How could Zhao Yunlan get Shen Wei to relax and just enjoy the sex?"

3 - 2 - 1 - GO.

No help with your fic, because for me it goes as follows:

1. For Shen Wei, "letting go and enjoying himself" would mean holding Zhao Yunlan down and just taking what he wants - to stop holding himself back.

2. To make that happen, Zhao Yunlan would poke at him and provoke him any which way, because it's a proven fact that when Shen Wei gets angry/frustrated, he tends to manhandle Zhao Yunlan. *g*

He while I dearly love that type of fic (and have read it) I'm looking for something different this time.

The progression would probably start with Zhao Yunlan telling Shen Wei that he wants to make Shen Wei feel good, too ("Xiao-Wei, let me touch your dick!"), and involve some sleepy morning sex. And some associated reminders to Shen Wei that yes, he can let people help him without the world collapsing. Perhaps also some cuddling and massages to get him to relax occasionally?

I'm all for massages because I headcanon Shen Wei as starved for physical contact. I think they'd be a good way to make him pliant. (lulling him with repetitive motions might work)

Me too! He also likely has a bunch of psychological issues – after all, he was very probably a child soldier – that would also come up and excacerbate things, but I don't think he's ever learned how to reach out properly for physical contact. Zhao Yunlan will just have to cuddle him; such hardship. Massages are also good at turning him into a puddle of goo that Zhao Yunlan can then use his skills on to further melt.

HM that might be a strategy worth exploring. So, Yunlan being very openly appreciative, gentle and supportive might take Shen Wei back into BB Shen Wei headspace more... which I think would be a good step in the direction of 'let Yunlan Kunlun take care of me'.

Annoying him into overthinking wouldn't work, because I'm looking for a way to make Shen Wei all pliant and get him to take a 5-minute break from trying to save the world, not make him snap. Going full on praise kink and adoring his socks off would be a good approach, yes!

Keep things very light at first -- lots of joking and failing to take things seriously -- while emphasizing that he wants Shen Wei to indulge him in this. And then focusing specifically on individual body parts.

Talking about "this hand" and all the praiseworthy things it's done, while he's giving Shen Wei a hand massage that moves into somewhat sexier actions. Then move on to the next specific body part. Keep the praise honest while being over-the-top, keep reinforcing the idea that Shen Wei is supposed to be indulging Zhao Yunlan in all of this, and keep externalizing the body parts -- this isn't about Shen Wei feeling good, it's about each and every perfect piece of his body feeling good.

They do such good things for the world, and for Zhao Yunlan, don't they deserve a reward?

Flip the tables and spend a long time taking care of Shen Wei first. Possibly begin with doing something Shen Wei loves (buying/feeding him food he likes, letting Shen Wei geek out over biology/calligraphy, etc.). Then, carefully undress him, coupled with sweet kisses on exposed skin. Maybe a bath or shower next, or at minimum, mussing up Shen Wei's carefully styled hair and giving him a bit of a scalp massage. More kisses and murmured praise. Finally, when Shen Wei has melted into a content lump, ZYL can have his way with Shen Wei, be it rimming or a messy blow job until Shen Wei is begging to come or rolling Shen Wei on his stomach and fucking him nice and easy or gently tying Shen Wei's hands to the bedstead (not too tight) and riding him, coming on Shen Wei's stomach, and then licking it off.
