The Great Guardian Kink Poll
The answer options I've chosen are not in any way exhaustive, just what first came to my mind. I do think some kinks are more likely for them than others (e.g. I can't believe that Shen Wei would enjoy any sort of pain, he's too stoic about it). It was a lot easier to come up with kink ideas for Yunlan *g*.
In the novel I believe Yunlan has a kink for BB Shen Wei's long hair? People with novel knowledge - I'd love to hear how the novel deals with kinks!

demi-romantic? That he's just never been in love with anyone, never had any crushes, nothing. Sure, he likes people okay, and sex can be fun, but his heart is a compass that's never pointed anywhere.Until he meets Shen Wei, and for a while he has no idea what he's feeling (or what to do with it).
I don't necessarily see that as a lack of sexual interest, but I could see him giving up on sex at some point because having to extract himself from the emotional attachments gets to be too much trouble.
(Whereas I read Shen Wei as someone who had multiple heavy crushes at various points, but Kunlun was the first person who returned his feelings.)

Never having been in love is definitely not the same thing as a lack of sexual interest. Yeah, I can go with Zhao Yunlan having sex, though only with people he's certain don't have any feelings for him that he can't reciprocate (because causing heartbreak is so not his thing).
To me he just seems so uninvolved in sex and attraction in the series (except for Shen Wei!), and together with some other things - like the way he talks about being born with a lack of love, and even the ridiculously macho car - it made me think demisexuality is a valid option for him. Not the only one, though, certainly!

Possibly! I always assumed he had just never had the headspace for romance before, but yeah, I could also see him having crushes.
I could *also* see him having sex with others before meeting Kunlun, even without having a crush on his partner. It wouldn't surprise me if there was a lot of bonding sex happening in the fighting units.

That also makes sense to me! Actually, I think that's the only context I can imagine pre-Kunlun Shen Wei having had sex at all. As you put it - I feel like he just never had the headspace for anything else.

Oh yes, absolutely. I don't think either of them are innocents in the sense of not knowing what people get up to, and why wouldn't they live out their hopes and/or fantasies in their own minds? That's pretty much the only circumstance I can imagine, too. Circumstances were against it - and at some point he began trying to turn himself into a weapon, so he wouldn't have attempted to carve out the emotional space for a romantic relationship in between the fighting. But sex as a bonding activity and pleasant physical release, sure.
Maybe not towards the end, when he was commander of all of Dixing's forces. But before, yeah.

YES. Though that must have been between equal commanders surely, not so much between him and the men under his command? I can't see him agreeing to it otherwise. (or it was during a time where he was in the lower ranks).
