but only because they're just really damn GOOD, hah, not really because I have a lot of additional thoughts. :D
They are so good!!! And I really love a lot of the things that I've seen people diss. I think the only outfit I actively dislike is Shen Wei's plaid suit in ep 6, and that's just personal preference. I'm glad he gets to wear whatever makes him happy!
Btw I may soon be trying to work somewhere where Shen Wei's style would fit my worksona so well, lol, to the point that I recently photographed a mannequin in a store
Hee! Shen Wei would be so pleased to have influenced you! *g*
Mostly early on: Danger! :D Real or perceived, and the fact that everyone else is terrified of the Envoy.
Ohhhh, that's an excellent point! Of course that would be a draw for ZYL!! It would really help to balance the fact that the Envoy is seen as a stickler for the rules, which I feel like ZYL would automatically want to rebel against. But yeah, that touch of danger...
Also, I'm learning Mandarin because of Guardian, 100%, I never would have started otherwise. :D :D
That's awesome! How did you get started, if you don't mind my asking? I think about it sometimes, but it's so daunting, I don't even know where to start. /o\

Saaame. :D :D *high five* (No opinion on the plaid suit, lol.)
"Hee! Shen Wei would be so pleased to have influenced you! *g*"
:D :D :D I like to think so. xD :D
This is the first time I looked at that picture since I took it and apparently you can't see anything, lmao. (Mostly me reflected in the window, but it's not identifiable so, I can post it here. :D) But the necktie/necklace (I don't even know what it's called, but I'm sure Shen Wei does xD) was so prominent and shiny, and I just went 'ohhh, I suddenly NEED the Shen Wei vibe??' and couldn't move on until I at least took a picture. :D

HAH YES, and the possibility of rebelling and being annoying is very appealing to him in itself. xD And he can do that with both the Envoy and Professor Shen. xD :D

As much as it's not the popular or highly recommended option, I started with Duolingo and it has worked out for me just fine. :D (The desktop version, completely different from mobile - I've never tried the mobile version of Chinese, but for other languages it was maybe 10% as useful as the desktop one.) I still only use Duolingo as 'organized' learning (though there are many other options that I haven't tried), and now that I understand a bit more I also use reddit (r/ChineseLanguage mostly) or I just look things up directly if something sounds intriguing. :D Especially rules and patterns because Duolingo doesn't explain those. And then there's
Mandarin is so refreshingly simple after Korean btw (at least at the beginner level, which is where I still very much am)! I can read/understand some Korean (I don't think I can speak/write it much anymore, beyond some super basic things), but grammar has defeated me at some point, and so far I never went back. xD But I've never watched any kdramas, and I feel like that would be one of the most helpful things. :D

It's *very* cool, especially in conjunction with the vest. I suppose it doesn't count as a bolo?

*nodnod* I know Korean has a reputation for being very hard to learn, for English speakers, but I didn't find it particularly bad. I'm out of practice, but at least it has an alphabet that's mostly phonetic (as a non-visual person, characters are a huuuuge barrier to entry for Mandarin) and no tones. ;-p But then, I like grammar and am terrible at memorising vocab. At one point I was working hard to acquire as many words as possible, but I've lost nearly all of them now, and the prospect of trying to get them back is super daunting. /o\
