Picspam/Quiz: Hands

Two years ago, I did a picspam/quiz about shoes and ever since then I've been meaning to do one for hands as well. There are so many striking close-ups, so many iconic moments - but also many not so easily recognised. And some great visual parallels/motifs. So let's have some fun with this!



The challenge: identify who's being depicted, and which scene it is!
Hard mode: without looking at the comments first. :p

Sometimes it's easy to tell who it is, but not necessarily when; sometimes if you know who, you know what scene it has to be. Please post your guesses in the comments!

Oooh, a Quiz!!! I love it! Thank you so much!
Here are my guesses:

1a) This is the sundial being picked off the university rooftop after the altercation with the shadow man. I’m guessing it’s Zhao Yunlan picking it up.
1b) The Hanga Tattoo is a big hint. This is Sang Zan, in the scene where he’s standing over Wang Zheng’s body in episode 11 (which I just so happened to watch yesterday, heh).
1c) Tan Xiao in the SID lab trying to steal the hallows in episode 12 (yes I watched 2 episodes yesterday).
1d) These are Zhao Yunlan’s hands. I don’t know for sure when, but I hazard a guess it’s episode 28, where he takes the dial out and faints.
1e) On the roof during the mid-autumn festival. The hands are Shen Wei’s.
1f) Episode 34. Zhao Yunlan takes the dial, just before Ye-Zun-as-Shen-Wei arrives.

My Zhao Yunlan Hallows fondling spreadsheet really helped me for these. It’s not cheating, it’s benefitting from previous work!

2a) Ya Qing, when she’s with Zhu Jiu in his warehouse lair.
2b) Shen Wei! He’s cutting fruit for his hubby, who turns out to be already asleep, aww.

3a) Zhu Hong when she interrogates Shen Wei.
3b) Zhao Yunlan playing with Shen Wei’s office supplies at the university.
3c) That could be Zhao Xinci’s shirt; no clue when this is.
3d) It’s the illegal boxing ring guy writing his “suicide note”. I forgot his name.
3e) Cong Bo and Lin Jing writing self criticism at the Supervisory office (or whatever it’s called).
3f) Shen Wei, at the secret evil lab. Writing on Li Qian's board.

4a) Shen Wei. Maybe when he’s wondering if he should tell Zhao Yunlan the truth (just after the undershirt scene).
4b) Shen Wei. I think it’s after he cut the fruit for Zhao Yunlan.

5a) Looks like snake medicine for a sick Zhao Yunlan.
5b) Zhu Hong, in the snake village, being poisoned by her uncle.
5c) Shen Wei makes Tea for Zhao Yunlan. They are in his office and Zhao Yunlan demands answers regarding Heipaoshi’s identity he’s very much not getting at this point.
5d) At the hospital. I think it’s Dr. Cheng’s hands.
5e) Doting husband preparing the anniversary present for his wife Da Ji. I forgot his name.
5f) Sha Ya being interrogated by the SID.

6a) Shen Wei pricks himself to prove he can bleed. Now he needs a tetanus shot.
6b) It’s Shen Wei’s hand, but I don’t know when.

7a) It’s Zhao Yunlan’s first meeting with Shen Wei.
7b) Tan Xiao and Zheng Yi in the flashback that explains their relationship.
7c) Heipaoshi takes Zheng Yi to the faraway realm of around the street corner.
7d) This is a hard one. I’m guessing Sha Ya and Hua Yuzhu.
7e) Zhu Hong and Zhao Yunlan in her dream.
7f) I’m not crying I swear. It’s Ye Zun and Shen Wei, leaving together for the next life.

8a) Shen Wei being robbed in the alley.
8b) Zhao Yunlan. And -wild guess- Ding Dun who is charging him for palm-reading.
8c) No idea.
8d) No idea.

9a) Li Qian on the university rooftop. I think it’s after her grandma’s death.
9b) Wang Xiangyang. On the rooftop being evil with his evil companions.

10a) Zhao Yunlan makes Xiao-Guo touch the murdered student’s dead body.
10b) Shen Wei brings food to Li Qian at the hospital.
10c) Chu Shuzhi places a tracker on the Li family’s car, during the Butler Wu episode.
10d) Zhao Yunlan’s office, but I don’t know who.
10e) Someone’s getting ready for an illegal boxing match. Probably Chu Shuzhi.
10f) Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan, after the latter fainted from touching the hallows (again).
10g) Da Qing in the snake forest.
10h) It’s my boy, the bar owner! He’s announcing something to the people of Dixing.

(You did misidentify one of the Hallows-fondling instances, though. Possibly the spreadsheeting led you astray? *g*)

It's after ZYL and GCC go to the hospital (and run into Wang Yike there), so I think it's whatever tonic/medicine he was prescribed. (I do like the idea of it being Snake medicine, though!)

Yes! It's just before the Awl activates and ghostifies them all.

It is Zhao Yunlan. but nope, this is in episode 15 - he doesn't get to actually grope the Hallows this time, because Shen Wei catches him in time. *g*

No, this Hallows grope is in fact Chu Shuzhi - he's about to use the Sundial to heal Xiao-Guo in episode 33.

Yes! The concrete scene is just after Zhu Jiu is shot by Zhao Yunlan during the Envoy reveal.

All correct! The scene in 3b is the one in the webnovelist case.

I had to look it up too, I only remembered him as "Bo Bi's brother". It's Xiao-Jie.

All correct! (I used to think it was snake medicine too, but now I think it's just Zhu Hong making him actually take his hospital-provided meds.)

All correct! This is Dr Cheng just after she's drugged Zhao Yunlan's coffee.

Zheng Daqian! Yep, the one who murders her twice.

5f) Sha Ya being interrogated by the SID.

One of the hands is Shen Wei's; the other is Zhao Yunlan's. This is when they're facing the Crows and Zhao Yunlan notices Shen Wei's scratch not healing, in episode 28.

7a) It’s Zhao Yunlan’s first meeting with Shen Wei.
7b) Tan Xiao and Zheng Yi in the flashback that explains their relationship.
7c) Heipaoshi takes Zheng Yi to the faraway realm of around the street corner.

All correct, and LOL at the way you put that!

7d) This is a hard one. I’m guessing Sha Ya and Hua Yuzhu.

It is! They're at the portal, being taken back to Dixing by Shen Wei.

7e) Zhu Hong and Zhao Yunlan in her dream.

8c is Xiao-Guo betting on Chu Shuzhi at the fight ring in episode 18, and 82 is from the same episode, a Ye Huo flashback where two boys he saved refuse to accept money because they want to stay with him.

9b) Wang Xiangyang. On the rooftop being evil with his evil companions.
10a) Zhao Yunlan makes Xiao-Guo touch the murdered student’s dead body.
