Guardian Wishlist 2025 is coming!
Next month, Guardian Wishlist 2025 will open for business at
guardian_wishlist!
This gifting fest runs along the lines of
fandomtrees and its ilk, but is specifically for Guardian (show, novel, and RPF) and related fandoms (main actors' other roles). It works like this:
It’s been really fantastic the last four years, and we're looking forward to another round to celebrate this year's Reunion Festival (Mid-Autumn Festival) - so start thinking about what kinds of things you want to ask for. (Don't hold back! Your wishlist could prompt someone to finally make the thing they've been meaning to make for ages - or something they hadn't realised they were dying to put together!)
The Mid-Autumn Festival is late this year, so our schedule starts at the end of August. We'll be back closer to the date with updated rules and guidelines (all announcements and such are crossposted here on
sid_guardian), but we wanted to let you know the schedule now:
If you have any questions, suggestions or other feedback, please comment here or PM

Gifts can be posted directly in comments (which are screened until reveals) or to an AO3 collection. Gift posting continues right up until reveals. There are no minimums for gifts.

Also I do have a random question after all, which I was going to keep for when guidelines are posted, but I've been lowkey trying to make it work for weeks, so apparently I'm impatient to ask it now. ;D Can I skip general DNWs and only have fandom-specific ones? A handful of them overlap, but otherwise they're varying levels of mutually exclusive, including 'a very enthusiastic request in one fandom = a hard DNW in another fandom' (literally xD), and it's so complicated to make it make sense when they're not split. xD (And medium likes too? Damn, my requests are just so different between fandoms that idk how to reconcile them. xD Even general likes differ, but at least I have a sizeable list of those that do apply to every fandom. :D)

If mediums can be grouped by fandom, that would solve the other problem too. :D The way I'm planning it, I'd be requesting a lot of different mediums in one fandom, but in other fandoms it would only be one or two mediums, so I'd just like a way to make it clear that all the other mediums don't apply to any other fandom. :) This works, thanks! ♡♡♡
(It's probably gonna get more complicated than that because there's also recursive mediums vs. not-recursive ones, but I'm not trying to work that out before I'm actually filling out a form because I'm confusing myself. xD)
