And then maybe Zhao Yunlan convinces him to get the books published post-canon. :D
No! Why? They're private. *hoards them away like novel!Shen Wei's Kunlun pics*
Or Shen Wei could also be writing very serious historical fiction for the public, and keeping the versions with the love interest unpublished. :D
Okay, this is lovely. Especially if the historical content veered into educational. ;D :D :D
(Jsyk, in the fic, it's the Regent writing historical romances, not Shen Wei.)

Aw, absolutely, if they're private then they're private! ♡ (In my scenario they're not private and he wants to share them, just not the part about how much he misses Kunlun, and then Zhao Yunlan is there and it's not painful anymore, and ZYL is excited to share their fictionalized story, and SW is reassured that now he can do it. :D)
"Especially if the historical content veered into educational. ;D :D :D"
Definitely educational, with lots and lots of historically accurate details. :D

Lol yep, I figured. :D :D :D

Oh, interesting! Aww. (I think my internalised SW is a Very Private Person and doesn't need or particularly want to share his inner self with the general public. Hmm... maybe I should think about that some more. :-)
Definitely educational, with lots and lots of historically accurate details. :D
LOL, exactly! :D

Ftr, my scenario in this case was a sort of a fic-concept interpretation, and not a canon Shen Wei analysis, since we're already in the AU where he writes historical novels. :D I think yours is a lot closer to canon! I can just fit a lot of mutually exclusive character interpretations in different fics and headcanons. :D (Oh, and if his books are fiction, then only he would know if he's sharing his inner self or not, the readers would have no idea. :D)

Ahh, okay. That makes sense! In that case, of course he can publish away! :D :D :D And since he's already the Envoy and a respected academic, he will no doubt take being a celebrated author in stride, too. :D
Oh, and if his books are fiction, then only he would know if he's sharing his inner self or not, the readers would have no idea. :D
Yeah, but he would know. And would he want random people out there having ~opinions~ about things he holds dear?

Hee. :D :D It's not a secret anymore because his students conducted an investigation and found out? xD (I'm always a fan of his students doing stuff like that. :D :D)
"Yeah, but he would know. And would he want random people out there having ~opinions~ about things he holds dear?"
Now I'm wondering if he would even realize that there are any opinions he could see. :D Since the internet is probably not something he gives much thought to. I definitely don't think he would actively like the concept of people having opinions on it, but also maybe privacy goes both ways - it's their private thoughts (or so he thinks, lol) and he has more interesting things to think about? But in the end that's still an AU Shen Wei - I don't think the canon one would have much interest in writing fiction at all, let alone getting it published. :D

Haha, they would, too. Jiajia would find a handwritten page of manuscript jammed in the photocopier or something and be unable to let it go. :D :D :D
