Every time I see this scene that is exactly what I think of!
Of course, my mind also went straight to the gutter about another way they might have managed to keep warm ...
Nevertheless, I couldn't resist the lollipop factory! :D Right???!!! :-D

LOL, right?
(Also, I love that the two Dixingren have to explain the concept of absolute zero to Changcheng. It raises so many questions about a) Dixing education, and/or b) their choices of reading material since coming to Haixing. Maybe Dixingren are naturally curious about mundane physics...)

LOL! Imagine if that had shown up in ZYL's visions! :D :D :D

This is so cool, I've never thought of that! Oooh, maybe it has to do with their specific powers and how to use them?
"LOL! Imagine if that had shown up in ZYL's visions! :D :D :D"
Lolol. :D :D :D *big fan of ZYL having nsfw visions* (As you know. :D :D :D)

Maybe! Or maybe it's just, you know, in Dixing people are breaking the laws of physics all the time, so people might not have a very solid grasp on them. Hard to know what's a "law" when it doesn't apply all the time. So it might be super interesting to discover this whole field of "how the world works absent dark energy"?
*big fan of ZYL having nsfw visions*
About Changcheng, though?? *covers face* I think that crosses a line for me, lol.
no subject
Oooh, that's a super cool concept! And maybe once they know more, they can break the laws even more efficiently. :D
"About Changcheng, though?? *covers face* I think that crosses a line for me, lol."
Lolololol *just about cries laughing* xD xD xD :D Just the general concept, and lol no, I don't think he would actively enjoy these specific visions. xD

Maybe? Or they could just enjoy knowing stuff. ;-)

Yeah, I love that too!
Honestly, I like the idea that Dixing's education is actually good ... if you can get it. So the schools SW wants aren't to introduce knowledge to Dixing, but to give everyone equal access to knowledge.

Ooh, yes! But I also want it to be context-specific and foreign. Like, they're not going to have much on astronomy (except perhaps theoretical astronomy based on ancient star charts and stuff).
So the schools SW wants aren't to introduce knowledge to Dixing, but to give everyone equal access to knowledge.
I really like that! I like the idea that he's sure there's a Dixingren Li Qian just dying for some good science courses...

This makes me wonder how much can be learned from whatever is left from the space travel era. :D
"I like the idea that he's sure there's a Dixingren Li Qian just dying for some good science courses..."
AW! ♡ He probably knows kids like that already.

Right? There could be huge philosophical arguments about the meanings of artefacts, with different schools of thought. :D

Maybe! I'm really not clear how many ordinary Dixingren he knows (outside of the palace) or how much time he spends down there. He seems surprised by the state of things early in canon ("Dixing has become a prison of torment" /quoting from memory). :-/
no subject
I figure he knows some things from, like, the times where he has to bring back innocent people (and secretly releases them), but yeah, he probably doesn't know many ordinary people on a personal level.

Ha, but any Dixingren who's been to Haixing by definition isn't completely ordinary. Or, at least, not typical. :D
But yeah, he definitely has some contacts among the populace, like Wu Tian'en for one.

Same! I mean, there's a reason I made Li Qian's Dixing mirror in Beyond the Gates, the Mountain upper class, because someone actually in circumstances similar to Li Qian's wouldn't have access to higher education in Dixing.

a great deal of weird science involving black energy ... :D
Yes!! :D :D :D
because someone actually in circumstances similar to Li Qian's wouldn't have access to higher education in Dixing.
Now I'm wondering about libraries... They probably don't have those either, pre-canon. The Regent doesn't have a lot of incentive to educate the populace...

That makes sense. And unsupervised people with natural talent intuiting theories, getting them wrong sometimes, probably teaching them to others, and (particularly in the area of dark energy) sometimes making terrible mistakes. /o\

Yeah, or they don't deserve it, or any other excuse. /o\ /o\ /o\
