Obviously now I rewatched it. :D :D This is such a cool interpretation! I never gave the grimace any thought, I just assumed Ye Zun is extra angry at Zhao Yunlan for being defiant. But he does turn away to make this expression, so being also angry at himself for giving ZYL a reaction, on top of everything else, makes a lot of sense! I feel like Ye Zun is always angry at himself somewhere underneath anyway. :P
