I don't think that's my cut-off. Like, if Shen Wei's mask were made entirely of dark energy, I'd still think it was a mask, you know?

Hmmm. *ponders* Good point. If it mimicked a physical mask, but was made entirely of swirly energy, yeah. But I think it has to be something sitting visibly on top of the real face? Ha, it's difficult to pin down exactly where the line is for me!

I think for me the line is "can it be removed?"

Okay, I don't know my boundary, then, because I'm happy to include that disguise in the category of "masks". (And for that matter, the kinds of rubbery loosely head-covering masks they wear for the bank robberies in Point Break.)
