My answers:

Post-Envoy reveal!! That Shen Wei apologises for not telling Chu Shuzhi sooner! But even more, I love that finding out the Envoy's secret identity/situation (not only living in Haixing pretending to be a regular Haixingren, but also apparently having a ~thing~ going on with Zhao Yunlan) in no way affects Chu Shuzhi's absolute loyalty, respect and commitment to the Envoy.

And my "other" is in episode 1, when the Envoy makes his first appearance: Chu Shuzhi pushes Xiao Guo into a bow, and I love how it shows Chu Shuzhi's deep respect for the Envoy, his sense of hierarchy, and as a pleasing side-effect, how he's training Xiao Guo to be equally respectful and to know his place. (I don't think Chu Shuzhi is consciously thinking about this, but making a well-connected young Haixingren bow to the Ambassador of Dixing must be so satisfying on some level, given how badly Haixing treats Dixingren generally.)

Yes, agreed! If it were ZYL, I'd put it down to coincidence, but Shen Wei is so restrained in his gestures, especially when he's in his robes. Maybe it really was deliberate. :D :D :D

No point talking back to ZYL (especially when a) he's blind, and b) he's the Envoy's significant other), but he can dissent through body language. And Shen Wei's little smile seems as much about CSZ's reaction to ZYL as it is to ZYL himself. *hearts them all so much*

They're all such great scenes! There are so few scenes that focus on these two, but they all pack such a punch, it feels like more.

I voted for the post-reveal scene, like everyone lese (LOL), because it encapsulates their entire dynamic so well, Shen Wei treating Chu Shuzhi as a friend and apologising for not telling him, while Chu Shuzhi with his absolute loyalty never thinks he's owed anything at all. But I also hbad to pick the interrogation scene because that's one of my favourite scenes in the entire drama, and Shen Wei is such a magnificent troll in it while Chu Shuzhi is so confident in his "no one could possibly measure up to the Envoy" attitude, and I always want to know how Chu Shuzhi reacted when he remembered that scene after the Envoy reveal.

Oh huh! The sweeeping hand gesture is so characteristic of the Envoy, and now that I think of it, the way Shen Wei extends his hand in the interrogation scene is a bit reminiscent of that, so slow and deliberate - maybe it's one of the things that reminds Chu Shuzhi of the Envoy ...

Yessss, their dynamic is so delightful throughout. I particularly love how Shen Wei understands and is amused by CSZ's faux disrespect towards ZYL (in the post-reveal scene, and also outside Ye Huo's place when CSZ calls his boss a bastard). That's always so excellent.

Ooh, yes! Shen Wei is always reaching out/leaving the door open for friendship -- explicitly in their first rendezvous in the park, but implicitly over and over. I wonder how much CSZ's awareness of himself as a criminal plays into his inability to accept those overtures, vs just pure awe and reverence for the Envoy.
