The bottle of milk being heated for Daqing, which Shen Wei then gives Zhu Hong, is explicitly 牛奶, cow milk.
Does that mean he's more scared than he seems or he's exerted himself too much? I presume the latter, in which case, I guess the skulls are quite a threat?

The other thing about ZYL's not immediately freaking out about Shen Wei not being human is that non-humans aren't illegal in China the way some of them are in Haixing. So that's got to help. And Shen Wei isn't causing any trouble.

It was also produced in Jiangnan and therefore hard to find in the great northwest. I thought it was meant for her - that ZYL had anticipated cold-blooded Zhu Hong needing a warm-up in the cold mountains, and had come prepared. So it shows he does care about her as part of the team!

Yeah, I found it incredibly creepy too! I prefer the fear stick as Lin Jing's invention, seriously. And the sorcery does fit right in!
