Picspam: Ye Zun at the Inspectorate
In episode 36, Ye Zun visits the Inspectorate, dressed up to the nines in Maximum Drama Costume™, white suit and golden mask and cane and all, provoking/menacing/trolling Minister Gao and Professor Ouyang under the guise of "building bridges".
I love everything about Ye Zun in this scene: his little pony tail, his pimp cane, the suit, the way he moves, his head-tilts, leaning against things or towards people, his facial expressions (especially his grin). The bow at the end! His playful arrogance and generally unhinged air that makes him all the more threatening. And the way the camera supports the way everything about him is off by adding its own tilt. So here's a collection of Ye Zun looking fabulous! (As usual, click for full size.)

Bonus: Shen Wei & Zhao Yunlan react

Ye Zun is SO BIZARRE in this scene and I enjoy it so much. <3
I think the outfit is Ye Zun's personal taste in clothes. It's (shades of) white, which he favors, and it has some formality to it. To me, it feels "updated Ye Zun style".
Is Ye Zun having as much fun as he seems to be having?
Good question! I can never tell if he's truly having fun or putting on the appearance of having fun.

Ye Zun is so incredibly extra and OTT and delightful here, it's SUCH a fantastic scene and I always wish there was more.

Yeah, that makes sense to me!

This, exactly. I do think he's having fun - but then, if he didn't, he'd still make it look like he did! So how can we know?! *tears hair*

He's having so much fun, imo he loves everything about this including his outfit ❤️

He definitely looks like he's having fun! And I love the thought that this trolly, dramatic performer personality is as close to who he might be without all his trauma and hang-ups as he can get at that point. *pets him*

I love this scene and these are exactly the reasons why. He's so playful, but also dangerous. Also he looks hot (it's Zhu Yilong after all), you can't omit that detail. ;)

And he does looks very hot, in a completely different way from how Shen Wei looks hot. It consistently amazes me. :D

Also, LOL at dressing up for Halloween, I love that for Ye Zun! :D

Also, what magic keeps his outfit so clean?!
I love the idea that he could have been a performer in a different world!

Zhu Yilong's: no idea!
Ye Zun's: he does have a stain-removing power, as we see in a later episode when he removes blood stains from his sleeve! (Possibly the single most useful Dixing power we see on screen! *g*)
I love the idea that he could have been a performer in a different world!
Me too, honestly. :D
