In episode 38, Cong Bo sets up a broadcast for Guo Changcheng to relay the messages of the dead to everyone in Dragon City/Haixing.

We mostly see Guo Changcheng reading from his notebook, not looking at the screen.

There are a few "webcam POV" shots where it looks like he's speaking into the camera, but none of the wideshots bear that out.

We see patients in the hospital hearing his broadcast, but unlike Zhao Yunlan's broadcast, where everyone is staring at their phones or larger screens, this time no one seems to be watching. Also, one of them says, "Didn't you hear the evacuation notice from Seastar Administration?" 你没听到海星鉴的疏散通知吗, suggesting that was audio only.

hee! It's just that he is so transparently uncomfortable, everyone looks away from their screens to avoid embarrassing him further. Dragon City is very considerate that way!

I need tickyboxes! The first three options could all make sense to me. But mainly I thought the difference to ZYL's broadcast was that with ZYL they were hijacking every screen and stream possible, whereas this time they're cutting in after the Inspectorate evacuation notice, so are only hijacking whichever streams the Inspectorate used. Which would probably be both video broadcasts and audio-only (radio). And at the hospital, it happens to be a radio broadcast that's playing over the sound system.

(With Zhao Yunlan, we see Fourth Uncle listen to it on the radio, too.)

*nodnod* It must be Minister Gao who issues the evacuation notice. I wonder if he'd have done a broadcast; given the urgency/short notice, I can easily imagine just a splashscreen of some kind, or maybe the words appearing onscreen for people with hearing issues.

But none of the wide shots here give any indication that Changcheng is aware of the camera -- quite the reverse. Half the time he's holding his book in the way. It's only in the webcam shots where he's paying attention. (Argh. ;-p)

I love all of the screen snippets and dialogue snippets :D I always assumed it was audio only and some recording by Cong Bo XD

Right? He has the little notebook he takes notes in, like in the popcorn scene, but I think this is the journal he writes in when he's being philosophical at the end of a case. *hearts*

His little investigation notebook and then his journal. It would be interesting to go through all the episodes and pull out all the things Guo Changcheng writes in his big journal :D *writes that idea down!*
