I posted the final chapter of How the Other Half Lives (which is also the final chapter of my Taking It Slow series) -- 25k for the whole fic, Explicit, Shen Wei/Zhao Yunlan first time (for one of them)
Zhao Yunlan gets a crash course in Envoy -- and more importantly, Shen Wei.

I contributed a couple of sections to SEF's lovely Dreamtime: A Rainy Night at the Apartment with Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan podcast (text here)

I wrote a couple of comment fics and a flashfic:

I wrote one Guardian/due South ficlet in November under the influence of too much Kir (a mixture of white wine and liqueur), and came up with another during a bout of insomnia (and wrote it out the next day on scratch paper in a comic book store). Neither of these is my usual creative method!!!

The "practicing for Firewhiskey Fic" fic:

Did Shen Wei ever find Zhao Yunlan on the streets of 1990s Chicago? Did RayV and RayK's relationship ever improve? The answers to these burning questions may be found here. Given that Fraser is the instigator of both plotlines, I think you can guess the answer.

The "insomnia and scratch paper" fic:

Guo Changcheng has an idea he wants to try out. Chu Shuzhi and Ye Huo go along with it. Much less porny than it sounds from the title! Primarily logistical fluff.

I'm so glad you rec'd these! I had never seen that piece of artwork, and it's gorgeous! I had read the other two fics, but hadn't yet left a comment, and it's easy to lose track - I reread one of them and left a comment tonight. :-)

WeiLan drabble (teen and up)

Shafts of sunlight through the slatted blinds stripe the bed. Wisps of steam rise from the teacup on the kitchen table. The bedcovers are bunched to one side, pillows askew. With a throaty mrow of annoyance Da Qing trots into the other room, tail raised high, for some peace and quiet.

“Won’t this make you late for class?” Zhao Yunlan shimmies out of his pajamas bottoms and tosses his shirt to the foot of the bed.

“If,” Shen Wei says against Zhao Yunlan’s skin, “you were so concerned about me being late, you wouldn’t have tempted me back to bed.”

I wanted to use November, everyone's favorite month to get some writing done, to fill as many Guardian Bingo squares as I could, so I could maybe make a blackout happen this year. Quite a few left to go, but here's hoping!

• For the Lollipop square: a silly little Twitter thread about the Guardian characters as candy
• For the Backstory square: some Guardian drama trivia and behind-the-scenes from the early days of filming
• For the Alliance square: 25 icons of Zhu Yilong, Bai Yu, and some actors one or both of them have worked with
• For the Secrets, Suspicion, Powers, Redemption, and Forgotten squares: a pre-canon drabble collection (500 words, Shen Wei gen)

And, outside of any bingo aspirations, my second fic for Parallel World, because I love Ye Liuxi and Chang Dong:

I wrote one fic for the guardian bingo -
Preoccupied with Whether They Could 3k,T-rated - What if the underworld was just as real in Haixing and Dixing as it was in the Guardian novel 'verse? What if Haixing scientists were foolish enough to meddle with it?

(I'd had this WiP sitting around since pretty much the beginning of my time in the fandom, because I always thought it was a shame that Professor Ouyang and Shen Wei never had a direct confrontation once Shen Wei's identity was out and Professor Ouyang started hulking out. And also that it would be really satisfying if Professor Ouyang couldn't tell the difference between Dixing and then underworld, when both are real, and so had no idea how far outclassed he was--and then Weilan show up. I didn't know where to go with it until yesterday and then boom! suddenly it was done! It was some of the most pleasurable writing I've been able to do in...a while <3 <3)

Oh, very neat, that is fascinating! Dixingren and ghosts aren't exchangeable for most purposes, and they speak to such different themes - so it makes a lot of sense to me that in a novel/drama fusion you'd add the underworld to the drama, but I don't think I've ever seen that before.

Also, I love your ideas about Shen Wei confronting Professor Ouyang!
