January fanworks round-up post

First round-up for 2023, welcome to a new year at sid_guardian!

Which is to say, this is the fanworks round-up post for January - as usual, please link in the comments to any Guardian (or related fandoms) fanworks you created or enjoyed this month:

• all kinds of fanworks are welcome – fic, art, vids, picspams, etc. - including those made for exchanges and events
• new chapters for WIPs count
• meta or discussion posts, too
• whether or not you've already linked these in a post of their own, we still want them here!

If you're linking to fanworks you didn't create yourself, please clearly mark these "REC", so there's no confusion about authorship/creatorship.

I wrote one Shen Wei ficlet for a missing moment in episode 1:

I wrote two mostly gen (background SW/ZYL) things for fandomtrees:

• Home is in your hands - post-canon AU, Shen Wei returns to the university for the first time and has post-trauma feels.


• Instrumental (solo for strings) - post-Envoy reveal, Chu Shuzhi is "summoned" to a meeting with the Envoy in the suburbs.

I also wrote a far-too-long Rewatch post for episode 2. Let's see if I can be more succinct for episode 4... :-)
