Weekly Guardian (TV) rewatch starting in just under two weeks!

In just under two weeks, a Guardian rewatch is starting up on discord (more details here), and since we've been planning a rewatch here on the comm anyway, we thought we'd sync up with that. The plan is to start with episode 1 on 13/14 Jan, and continue right through to episode 40 in October.

Anyone can sign up to host a rewatch post!

You don't have to attend the Discord viewings or anything else to take part here. You don't even need to rewatch the show to comment -- you can just jump into the discussions. All welcome!

Note: We're putting scene discussion sign-ups on hiatus for the duration of the rewatch. You're still 100% welcome and encouraged to post meta, picspams, and any other kind of Guardian-and-adjacent-fandoms-related content to sid_guardian at any time (please do!!) -- we just won't have sign-ups or reminders while we're running the rewatch.

Rewatch posts
We're aiming for more of a "let's talk about anything in this episode" vibe, and less of a TED talk presentation, compared with scene discussions, so rewatch posts can be as minimalist as you like, but please use the template and include:

1. a reminder of where in the story the episode starts and ends in terms of plot
2. a quick list of significant/memorable scenes and plot developments
3. a few discussion starters, e.g., observations, thoughts, questions raised.

Optional other content:

• things you noticed on this rewatch that you haven't before
• screencaps
• observations about costuming, cinematography, music, etc.
• anything else you want to say or include!

Participants' comments can be as brief as noting your favourite moment of the episode or a line of dialogue that struck you, or as in-depth as you like. As with scene discussions, hosts are not obliged to reply to comments.

We're really looking forward to squeeing over our favourite little moments, puzzling out the significance of anything that we haven't made sense of before, asking questions about subtitles/translations, and just generally rolling around in our love of the Guardian drama. We plan to resume scene discussions once the rewatch is over, so make a note of any scenes you'd like to revisit later.

On each rewatch post, mods will post a "Links to episode [#] fanworks and meta go here!" comment, and we encourage everyone to link to their own and others' fanworks, previous or new episode reactions, meta, picspams, etc.
