Summary: The first time it happens, he's thirteen.
This was written for the March bonus prompt of Guardian Bingo 2022 (Woman and Gender Non-Conforming Characters). It comes from a few places: the idea that Dixingren seem to manifest their powers via trauma; the headcanon that Zhao Yunlan spent his teenage years getting into fights in Dragon City back alleys; and the always lurking what if about Shen Xi's origins.
