Guardian prompt community?

Is there any place on Dreamwidth (or elsewhere that loops in DW folks) that prompts for Guardian fanworks (fic, art, podfic, drabbles, whatever)? Not an exchange--that's too slow and too much pressure for me.

It's just that I keep having these ideas for mysteries and themes I wish people would address, and I have nowhere to send these ideas. For instance, Why is there an iguana in SID? What are the special powers of the Cat Tribe? What did Shen Wei and the monarch talk about while Zhao Yunlan and the regent were searching for the registry? 

I know most of the people here are old hands at Guardian and may not be interested in this, but some might be?

I know this doesn't really help with your actual question, but for what it's worth, I would looove to see all of those kinds of thoughts right here! It's the kind of thing I enjoy batting around with Guardian-minded friends, whether seriously or for fun.

(I tucked a mention of the iguana into a story of mine...I didn't resolve the mystery, but Da Qing, at least, thinks he has. :D )

Hee! It's just a little bit in the first part of this one, https://archiveofourown.org/works/25471462, "To Awake as Living Flame"--when it gets to Da Qing heading for his lunch, you know you're done with the iguana mentions. :D

Also, this thread has made me think, like, back when Zhao Xinci ran the place, maybe there was a Dixing person whose only power was turning into an iguana. He committed crimes on the surface and Zhao Xinci arrested him, but the guy poofed into his iguana form, and the Dixing power structure decided it wasn't set up to prosecute or imprison him (lots of smoke-memos from the Regent about it). Zhao Xinci kept him in that cage in HQ, like a holding cell, waiting for the day he'd change back.

Heh! That's the sort of thing I was thinking about, though I imagined an iguana Yashou. Wouldn't Zhu Hong feel some kinship with another reptile-human mutant?

There used to be a plot bunny farm on brush_and_lantern, but that hasn't been used in some time - I don't think people check it any more. And it wasn't quite the same as what you're asking, more geared towards specific fic ideas rather than open questions ...

FWIW, I think those kinds of open questions are a lot of fun and I would love to hear more about what other people would like to see more in fic. I would totally be here for people posting them! Whether it's a prompt meme post here on sid_guardian or something else.

That is a shame; however, there was a post that (along with the promotional picture of the wall of clocks) inspired me to attempt to write a Guardian fanfic! It helped this former Dreamwidth lurker.

Still, it's sad to see that community become relatively inactive. :(

Chiming in to agree that I'd love to see prompts or memes like this on sid_guardian. I never thought about all that time Shen Wei is alone with the Dijun Lord while Zhao Yunlan is searching for the registry with the Regent! That is a great question: what were they talking about?

To add to what's already been said, there's bailongmediakink too. Though it seems rather unused nowadays. I think sid_guardian is the most suitable place for questions like the ones you mentioned.

It's not my community, so not for me to say if or how it might happen here. I'm happy to suggest ideas for prompts, but someone here would have to do a bit of organizing and PR. I don't want to strong-arm the mods or anyone else.

FWIW, l think meta (a serious nonfiction response to a question or prompt) could be a welcome response. I'm most invested in fic myself, but that's of no matter. Tossing out ideas in any form would be great. Flailing seems to be a common response of new Guardian fans, so it would be nice to have company. ;-)

Speaking as one of the sid_guardian mods, it's exactly the kind of thing this comm is for. If you want to set it up, please do! That would be awesome!!

(If you don't, we can do it, but FTR, people should absolutely feel free to do things like this on the comm.)
