I went back to reread this story a day or two ago, because it was just that awesome, and saw your name on it. I couldn't figure out how on earth I could have read it and not realized it was yours! I hadn't noticed it was part of the RMSE exchange. Now I understand. :-)

I just realized, I mean, literally just now, that the wonderfully droll tidbits with Da Qing and the iguana actually set the stage for the theme of questionable communication, possible misunderstanding, and determination to follow through. Superbly crafted. ♥
