Two non-Dreamwidth-based events: Guardian Week and Zhenhun Big Bang

1. Guardian Week is happening 14th to 20th August: Guardian Week is a fan theme week dedicated to creating fanworks for the novel and drama adaptation of Guardian | Zhen Hun | 镇魂. There are prompts for each day, and works can be submitted via Twitter or AO3.

2. Zhenhun Big Bang 2020 has posted its schedule and rules. The minimum word count for writers is 10k, and the minimum requirements for artists are: For traditional and digital - one artwork (cleaned, fully colored and rendered) OR two artworks (clean, black & white). For animations - 30 second time frame. For MVs - 1 minute and 30 seconds. It's being run via Twitter, Tumblr and AO3.


Both events are open to fans of the novel, the drama or both.

Do we have any information about who's running these events? The websites being hosted on the same service suggests it's the same person/people, but it feels weirdly impersonal to me.

The about page for the Guardian Week says it's being run by Phylocalist. I don't know them personally, but I know they participated in the last 520 Day Exchange.

I didn't see any equivalent info for the BB.

Carrd is a free(?) single-page website tool that's quite popular on Twitter, I think, so one can't make any inferences from that, alas.

No, you're right, I was befogged by morning brain - I hadn't seen this type of webpage before but that's no reason to jump to conclusions.

Mel (phylocalist) is only running Guardian Week, not the Big Bang. IDK who's running that one, so I can't say what they're like, but Mel is super nice. You can find him on Twitter if you have more questions about Guardian Week.

That ZhenHun Big Bang's rules are terrible for me. I'm looking forward to the Chinese Big Bang that should be up soon and will also allow for Guardian fanworks.

Oh, cool! Hopefully they'll post here soon. I only linked to the above because I'd seen mentions around the place, and I feel like people who aren't in the loop should hear about these things too.

I hope chinesefandombigbang will say who's modding, but the fact that they've set it up as a personal journal rather than a comm suggests they probably won't either (like the Zenhun one)... but at least (hopefully) the rules might suit people better.
