Consider yourself virtually hugged. I doubt I've been in the fandom for a week, but I have husband watching with me for my 2nd go-round. Absolutely obsessed. What an incredibly wonderful show.

Just started a more complicated piece that I really hope works out. White Rose by Melissa Manchester. I used it for Trek back in the mid 1980s, with the Enterprise being the White Rose. Problem here is that I can't yet see what the White Rose will symbolize here. But I can see most of the rest of the lyrics. But it will be fun trying.

As for timing, my historical page shows I'm up to 848 videos between husband and I. Mostly mine. I actually once found myself editing in my sleep. Back in the day, I used to teach fandom workshops in these things.

There are tricks. Of course, there are always tricks. One trick is that you have to do calculations to place the point of action on the emphasized note. Another is to end your clip with a completed action. Like landing weight on the forward foot. The most common - and the most painful for the editor - is that you have to rip THEIR clips completely apart. You remove anyone they cut to and keep ripping until you've got a reasonable continuous action. A clip that LOOKS continuous from the series, might be made up of 2-5 different pieces to get it to time.

You're an absolutely great group and I enjoy everything I read. I got into fandom in 1984, and have never looked back. When I went to cons, I always had a great time and I truly respect the imagination and passion in the fans I meet, whether in person or online. I think fandom brings out the best in us and makes us push ourselves to satisfy our own creative needs, as well as to jump up and down with others. I learned to write and to vid from other fans, and went on to use those skills in careers. Fans help other fans. Can there be a better world than that?

I do have a bit of an obsessive personality. Big surprise. So when I get into something, I just stay there for awhile until I work out whatever it is I need to work out. I have a list of songs and I'll keep doing them till one day I realize I'm done. Not there yet. My style is as a storyteller, and I'm always looking for songs that let me show off themes and character traits. I just laid down 3 Dog Night's "I'm Not Going" for Chu Shuzhi. Fingers crossed.

My site now includes a page for all my Guardian songs, and I also put on it all my music videos of ancient Chinese Art. I took several classes in college and have an intense love and respect for the art of China.

I took a few years out of fandom and just worked on art videos, mostly thematic or taking a particular artist and demonstrating their style changes as their work progressed over time. The Good Omens TV show brought me back into fandom, and this show is even better.
