Bai Yu was on a cooking show this (last?) week, and the whole thing (one hour long!) is now available here:

There are no subtitles, but I'm sure that won't take long until someone makes those. Also, they're mostly talking about food and it's not really hard to understand. It's the kind of show where the guest (Bai Yu) takes the host (Chef Nic) on a tour of their hometown (Xi'an!) and they ... eat a lot? :D

I had fun watching it raw, anyway. But if you happen to find a subbed version, let me know and I'll add a link to it here!

Whee, thank you for linking! I can't wait to have an hour to watch Bai Yu show Chef Nic around Xi'an. (Chef Nic is Nicholas Tse - a Hong Kong actor/martial artist/chef/singer whose Wikipedia page has enough material for at least half a dozen stars? My wife was very excited to see him!)

I really want to watch this! I didn't realize there's a tour of their hometown. :) It's so funny to see him eating out of that enormous bowl. :D

Yes, they're going to different places in and around Xi'an. I found it really nice to watch.

I can't wait for this to be subbed - he looks adorable in 100% of all the caps. I didn't realise they were in BY's hometown either, and I am just all the more endeared now.

Yes! They talk about his family a bit, too, I think. (My Chinese is way too bad to catch the details, but I did hear babamama a few times.)

It's really funny so far! About 16 minutes in, Bai Yu explains why he's wearing a beard, for example - he says he likes that it makes him look older ;)

But we were right, hee! He does wear it because it makes him look older! One point for us! :D

I think I'll rewatch it a few more times, maybe I'll be able to pick up more of the details.

I loved the part where his team hung up a drawing of a mango on that paper wall (that I didn't get what it's about), and then Nic doesn't get it and he explains the mango thing. And then Nic says "I don't think your face looks like a mango" and Bai Yu is overjoyed about that!

Thank you for linking to this! I'm only about 15 mins in so far but it's so charming. He's so charming. Chef Nic looks charmed!

Also, this has inspired me to do some Duolingo practice before bed... and to bookmark it and come back in six months and see how much more of it I understand :D
