I have one concern: would it not be easier to use the AO3 "share" option when reccing stories, instead of the detailed list specified in the comm rules? (I'm assuming all of our story links will be going to the AO3 anyway.)
It would save a lot of typing and checking info/links/details, and all the information about genre, warnings, and tags/themes is in the AO3 share links anyway. And this is self-serving because I have some RSI issues and am always trying to avoid extra typing. :D
Thanks so much for requiring the "Why I'm Reccing This" field! That is of paramount importance to me in a rec; I get frustrated when people just drop links and run without telling me what they like about a thing, and so I really appreciate this.

We wanted one uniform template for every type of fanwork on all sites. The AO3 "share" code includes several of the items on the template, but is missing some vital information, such as canon and type, and includes several unnecessary items, such as fandom, chapters, and all additional tags (as opposed to merely those tags that overlap with the concept of themes). We have also found, in our experiences with other rec comms, that more people heed warnings, ratings, themes, and any information a reccer gives that might potentially impact their enjoyment of a story, if the link to the story is at the bottom of the rec, rather than the top.
I do sympathize with the RSI issues; they are my constant companion. Since the "share" code would have to be customized anyway, to include all the required information and delete anything unnecessary, using the same template no matter the site seemed the best option.
Thanks so much for requiring the "Why I'm Reccing This" field!
This was a major impetus in creating the comm. We both love recs that feature the personal touch, and thought it would be wonderful to have a central location to find them.

(Very careful) fistbump on how much RSI sucks!
