That makes a lot of sense in the whole "liking the ending (but not as an ending)" thing? Whereas I see episode 40 as the last thing flashing before an the end at a movie - the last chapter of a standalone novel. The actual end. And that's why I'm all noooo, you can't leave it like this!
Me liking an ending = yes, this is fine, I don't wish anything had gone differently, and I am satisfied with the lives the characters are going to lead as we fade to black.
